The Online Resource for the Painting Industry

Barbara Jacobs

I'm a native of Minnesota, but moved to the Boston area in 1969. Lifelong immersion in having a father as an active artist brought me into the world of color and design at an early age, and the interest has not diminished.

A fine arts degree in painting and printmaking evolved into over 20 years creating innovative decorative surface finishes. Around 1990 I became seriously interested in how we can actually use color in our built environments as a way of creating more healthy, supportive spaces where we can add more enjoyment to all aspects of our daily lives. I've been a member of the IACC (Int'l Association of Color Consultants) since 1996, and an accredited member since 2000.

In addition to enjoying my working with others as an architectural color consultant, I've developed my own art work into tangibly practical areas: Silk Road Weaves - Tibetan rugs; EcoHues Full Spectrum Paint; and ClearHues Glass Tiles.

Going forward, as of Summer 2015 I will be based in Mid-Coast Maine, and Sonoma County, CA but have been and will continue to be available to work long-distance as well. A new offering is www.designercolorpalettes.com, an exciting, proprietary digital color design process that is far more detailed than any general online process.
