Emerald

★★★★★
I was given the opportunity by my local Sherwin-Williams store to try Emerald for painting the exterior posts of a new home. I used the gloss white, and was very pleased with the results.\r\n\r\nThe paint was a perfect consistency, and went on very smooth over the primer. Since these posts were never painted before, I was concerned about coverage. However, the paint went on great and dried to a beautiful finish. I probably could have left it at one coat because it covered so well, but I went ahead and did a second coat anyway, since I always do.\r\n\r\nThe paint leveled out nicely, and had very few brush marks, and dried to a really nice sheen. It is very different from the duration line and some of the associated issues I have had. I recently painted an exterior with Duration gloss, and experienced clogging in the sprayer, poor coverage, and clumps and skin forming, which I did not experience at all with Emerald. I already spoke to my rep about switching to use only Emerald, as I was so pleased with the product. The builder and new homeowner also remarked on the beautiful finish.\r\n

Interior Emerald

★★★☆☆
I just finished a 1200sqft condo with Emerald. I am typically a Benjamin Moore guy, but the designer in this case wanted SW which was fine with me as I thought this would give me a chance to try Emerald. \r\n\r\nThe colour was White Raisin (yellow) eggshell over dark beige. Tough combo. \r\n\r\nEmerald did well. Did not blow me away in any way specific. \r\n\r\nFelt nice off the roller and brush on the first coat....feels almost like BM Super Spec (oh my!) on the second coat. That dry pull cutting in. \r\n\r\nCoverage was good, but at this time I have to bring up price....coverage was good, but for $53 CDN (on sale) a gallon?...can\\\'t help but feel slightly under whelmed with coverage on this colour. We left it at two coats, but a third could have been justified, by my eye...(not the customers)\r\n\r\nAn accent wall was Garden Sage (green) and of course it covered beautifully in two. \r\n\r\nSheen was nice. I\\\'m confused why SW plays with sheens. No eggshell...just satin??\r\n\r\nNice paint, but I think its impossible to talk about Emerald and not talk about price. \r\n\r\nIn the future I\\\'ll stick with my personal interior favourites. \r\n

SW Emerald

★★★★★
Emerald is a fantastic paint. I tried it when SW first brought it out and promoted it for their contractors. I had a unique opportunity to test it in a room where each wall was a different colour and was in a different condition. 2 walls were dark and 2 were light. One wall had graffiti on it and another had a lot of damage and drywall repair. The paint went on exactly the same over each wall! The hide and coverage were beyond compare. Since SW first offered it at a special price , I stocked up with 25 cans. Some matte, some satin and some semigloss. I will admit that after my 25 cans were depleted, I didn\\\'t purchase any more because when it is not discounted it is too expensive. I just can\\\'t justify paying over $50 per gallon. If I could get this paint at $40 per gallon, it would be my go to brand for sure!

Been using it on doors and trim and really like the coverage and hide, levels very nicely when sprayed.

SW Emerald Interior Semigloss

★☆☆☆☆
I\\\'ve only used a few gallons on one job and I was very disappointed with results. colors used were a match from Benjamin Moore. AF-45 Collector\\\'s Item and 2065-10 Admiral Blue.\r\n\r\nI\\\'ve never done more than 2 coats to achieve proper color representation and film thickness. It took 3 coats and I still wasn\\\'t very pleased with the results. I have used their New ProMar 200 Zero VOC with great results at a much lower price. I will never use SW Emerald again. \r\n\r\nIt\\\'s hard to believe Sherwin Williams doesn\\\'t have a premium paint to even compete with Regal Select. I haven\\\'t tried their exterior version but I don\\\'t think it\\\'ll be better than BM Moorgard/Regal Select. definitely nothing close to Benjamin Moore Aura like they claim.

Emerald Interior Matte

★★★☆☆
I painted 2 rooms in my own house using Emerald on the walls, office and master bedroom. I did 2 coats of Luxurious Red over Luxurious Red and although it went on nice and looks good I just can\\\'t justify the price. If I thought it would save time and labor I could but it didn\\\'t and won\\\'t. I painted the rest of my walls using Cashmere and to me at half the price I\\\'ll stick with the Cashmere. I\\\'m still going to try Emerald on an exterior to see how it compares with Duration, the product we always use.

Absolute Zero VOC

★★★★★
I painted a baby\\\'s bedroom with Emerald. The client was sold on what I called \\\"no smelly stuff\\\" in the paint that would harm the child. It covers well, and it cleans up so easily. The most frustrating part for painters, especially the DIY painters, is the prep and cleanup. Emerald is awesome.

Erectara-Rac

★★★★★
Integrity Finishes of Tampa Bay recently added a great new(to us) system for painting cabinets.\r\nWe had been struggling with stacking and laying out our cabinet doors and drawer fronts when painting cabinets on site. After listening to other contractors talk about the Erecta-Rac System we purchased 2 of the Pro Pack 10 Series. I am happy to report our guys give it 5 stars.. They liked the system so much we purchased 1 more just yesterday to make the drying process even more convenient.\r\nNot only does this system take up less room on site, it lends itself to a more professional and stream lined look for our company. We are very happy with the Erecta-Rac system!

Emerald Exterior Paint

★★★★☆
I would have given 5 stars but i wont know how Emerald holds up for a few years. The more we use it the more we like it! Brush, Roll, Spray so far its been a pleasure to work with. Yes the price needs to come down no paint is worth $60 dollars a gallon. With that being said give it a try we did and will be using it again and again.

Emerald Exterior Paing

★★★★★
Just finished painting my third house (cabin actually) with emerald and the results were fantastic. Used a 517 with a graco395 and sprayed the coating un-thinned over a primed and prepped exterior. The results were A+ and I used far less paint then I expected while putting on 2 fairly heavy coats. It turned out to be very economically feasible as I used much less Emerald versus regular exterior paints. Takes a little getting used to but once dialed in the results are 5 star.

Prime RX

★★★★☆
SW Prime RX is a mid grade bonding primer in my opinion. Pricing is in the middle ($39.00 my cost @ local SW) The original and still the top grade product is Mad Dog Primer. But, at a price tag of $69-$75 per gallon, it is at times prudent to go with the SW knockoff, Prime RX. The bottom of the barrel is the Zinsser Triple thick peel stop which runs $35 per gallon at the Home depot. What I like about MDP (mad dog primer) is that it goes on thicker and is permanently tacky. We refinish a ton of exteriors that have in the past had serious fail issues. When used properly these elastomeric primers are amazing. We make sure our prep work (scraping & sanding) are as fine as possible and spare no expense to make sure our prepared surfaces are better than any of our competitors in our area. I cannot imagine using a bonding primer in order to skimp on prep work . In New England, the wooden exteriors expand and contract greatly. When you use a elastomeric primer with a premium top coat (Aura, Duration, or Emerald) your finish will move with the wood\\\'s movements during winter, spring, summer, and fall.

PrimeRx Review

★★★★☆
It\\\'s a fairly new product but I have used it 4-5 times now and it seems comparable to PeelBond. It tints a little better and is able to match up to the homeowners chosen color.

Cover Grip drops

★★★★★
So far the Cover Grip drop has been a great addition to my collection. It is very durable and lays down with a snap unlike other lighter weight drops. It hugs the surfaces just as advertised too, you can lay it on a set of stairs without fiddling around with it too much. The dots on the back make it heavy enough to give it a flick and it glides right in the corners. Another thing I like is the dots are a dead giveaway fot which side it \\\"up\\\". A pet peeve of mine is having paint on both sides of a drop (a little OCD there) no mistaking putting down the wet side by mistake when moving drops around. Yes folding is easy tot....just wish the dots were white , that\\\'s just the OCD talkin again!\r\nGreat product!

Jury still out

★★★☆☆
We were able to try the liners for the Big Ben Tray and the Wide Boy Bucket. We had one of each to use. It was a little difficult getting the liner into place for both (I am sure this would get easier with more use and experience with the product). They were very tight around the top lip of the tray/bucket and we didn\\\'t want to rip the liners since we only had one of each to try. Once we had the liners in place, we were a little disappointed with the fit and the roller nap seemed to slide on the plastic when loading. \r\n\r\nWhen it came time to clean out the tray and bucket, the liners definitely worked well. It was super easy to pull out the liner, cut a hole in it for the remaining paint to go back into the paint can and throw out the liner. It saved a lot of time/effort. \r\n\r\nWe would definitely have to try these more times than once to get a good feel for them. I feel we may not have had the best fit since it was our first time installing them on a tray or bucket, thus the issue of the roller nap slipping might not be a real issue. We use and reuse the rigid plastic liners for our 9\\\" deep well trays multiple times, so the cost per use with them is probably pennies or a nickel per use. These Quickn\\\' Clean liners only give one use, so the cost per use is much higher. Ultimately they do save time, so our use would probably be based on the type of job we were on.
- Mike Kremsreiter

Not impressed

★★☆☆☆
24-48 hours recoat time does not save time. As the article says: time is money. (Peel Bond, by XIM, is thicker, and ready for topcoat in 3 hours)

The good and the bad

★★☆☆☆
Here is the feedback that I got from my painters:\r\n1. They really liked the counterweights\r\n\r\n2. They didn’t care for the ergonomic handle that holds the brush. They felt the item was too bulky.\r\n\r\n3. They also didn’t care for the clip, no reason provided.\r\n

Very interesting product

★★★★☆
I was sent the GalaxG to run a test with my painters. I gave the tool to one of my lead painters that is very adept at finer detail work. He has been in the business for 17 years and is high quality driven in his finish work. As with any one, change was not something he was looking for. He has used the same Purdy brushes, roller pans etc forever. He did agree to try this out on a job. I asked for his honest feedback after using the GalaxG. He had many pros and a few cons to go over. He readily admitted that it felt wonderful in his hand. Ergonomically light years ahead of holding the brush alone. He did feel his hand was steadier as he would cut in ceilings and around doors and windows. He did say he was way more conscious of the brush possibly slipping and appear to almost tense up on occasion. He stated with constant use he was pretty sure that would go away. He also was not sure how he would store all the components in his bag without losing or ruining parts. Overall he truly liked the GalaxG and did want to keep it for future use. He was not sure if it would ever become a staple of his everyday use however. I am sure that is more a factor of change than the product not working. Painters do all have \\\"their\\\" way. Asking them to break a 17 year habit is not that easy. \r\n\r\nI would recommend this to anyone that has an open minded painter, a painted that has had any trouble with arm, wrist or shoulder discomfort in the past, or as a way to get a newer painter to have a steady hand on the cut ins they are required to learn. Very nice product and I wish you the best with sales and breaking in to the market. Thank you for the opportunity to try it out and if I get more feedback in the near future I will add that to my comments here.

galaxG- Ergonomic Tools for Painters

★★★★☆
Let me start by saying the reason I didn\\\'t give the galaxG 5 stars was because it just had a feeling of being a little bit cheap. Now that being said, there are things made in a certain foreign country that aren\\\'t really that bad though, and the galaxG is one of them. When I first received the galaxG my first thoughts were mixed. I loved the concept, but thought I would loose sensitivity and accuracy. The reason I love the idea is, I\\\'ve been painting and doing home repairs for 25 yrs and I have pretty banged up hands. I have multiple broken bones in my right hand from boxing also. So the idea of something to help relieve the cramping and pain, I\\\'m all for it!! This galaxG definitely does allow you to paint pain free, and it did not take away at all from accuracy or anything really. I really do like it and the accessories, it\\\'s just the one and only thing is the price and the lack of quality feel it has, that I don\\\'t like. Otherwise it\\\'s great!! I would be willing to pay it\\\'s current price or even a few dollars more, for a little bit more of a quality feel to it.

Great gripping

★★★★★
This is one of those products that when you look at it you slap yourself in the head and say \\\"why didn\\\'t I think of that?\\\" A very simple idea that works very very well.\r\n\r\nMy crew has one of the 4x15 runners. It has been used on multiple hallways and staircases and works extremely well. The best part is the true grip feel on hardwood floors. The crew asked me where I found it and they are likely looking for more.\r\n\r\nOne funny aside is that this product gets that painter who refuses to believe there is a top and bottom to a canvas drop cloth to see that yes there is. There is NO putting this one down with the paint side down. \r\n\r\nThank you... great product ... grip away and lets make the job safer and easier for all of us.\r\n

Super cool Purdy Dual Roll Off Bucket

★★★★★
Love it, set it up in a room and use both sides! The only thing I would change are the extreme corners, put more of a slope so the paint flows out better into the main pan area.. other than that it is super! I use 18\\\" rollers most of the time (if I can get away with it) and to not have to turn the bucket to use the rollers is insanely more efficient!\r\n\r\nHopefully the update will have a better corner area (more slope please).. but this is a dang nice bucket/pan and for a single user, or multiple users.. it really helps work flow!

After Further Review

★★★★★
We had the opportunity to try the Quickn\\\'Clean liners multiple times (rather then only once with are previous review). We find it takes our company multiple uses of a new product in order to get comfortable with it and have it become normal everyday use. It does take time and effort to form a new habit and we are very glad we gave these liners a second look. We now use them everyday!

Tried It - Loved It!

★★★★★
I stained my deck three years ago and it flaked off so I really was not happy to be doing this project again BUT then we saw the DeckOver product and decided this appeared to give us the look we wanted and hopefully durability. \r\n\r\nDeckOver was so much easier to apply than the stain had been. Even with drop cloths under the deck I had very little drippage (is that a word?) whereas the stain was everywhere. Each coat (I did two) went on easily and we love the results. The rich color is great and the little bit of texture that it gave the wood is barely noticeable under our bare feet. We would definitely recommend DeckOver!
- Sandy Pabst

Very happy

★★★★★
I used this on the railing of two decks this summer (decking is composite). I was surprised by how thick it was but once I got the hang of it (you can\\\'t brush over and over it like a stain), it went on easy and really did seal up small cracks and splinters. The rails look so much better. It basically hides all the weathering that had taken place. I like the non-stick finish. Candle votives, glasses and bottles stay put.

Ninja Glasses

★★★★☆
I had one of my lead painters use the sample Ninja Protective Eyewear. Overall he was pleased with the product.\r\n\r\nThe job he used the glassses for was a 1100 sq ft, 9\\\' tall, basement ceiling. We used Sherwin Williams CHB product and a Graco x-9 Sprayer. Jake felt the glasses took time to get used to as any new item would. He mentioned he found himself turning his head in different motions as he swept across the ceiling. They did keep the spray out of his eyes and he completed the two coats with no issues of paint in his eyes. His concerns were ones that will be almost impossible to correct. We know the product is intended to be a disposable item. That being said the quality of the strap is low and they needed adjusting more often than he would have liked. This is a double edged sword. To keep the price point reasonable to keep them disposable creates an issue of being forced to use a lower grade strap. The concern is on larger jobs the strap may become an issue as it stretches out and the glasses could become non functional.\r\n\r\nOverall on the job he used them for he was satisfied. He is not certain he would buy them consistently in the future however.\r\n

Kilz Pro Series

★★★★★
Yes , I have used it and almost every other paint that is available in my area her in New Jersey. Being a small shop myself and one man , I like to be hands on. While using the Dead flat for ceiling I would notice almost no splatter and made a comment to my man , he states I like this and it covers like a bandit. So for the last year or two that is the ceiling paint for us. Have done several new houses after Super Storm Sandy , to be competitive we used Pro Eg shell and was really impressed with the roll out and finish . Try it you will like it\r\nHarold in New Jersey

Kilz Max Making Life Easier

★★★★★
I refinish/repurpose vintage furniture in my store. The pieces I find come from all walks of life so they carry stains & odors that can be a nightmare to cover. Kilz Max not only saves me time and money but my sanity too. Kilz Max has excellent coverage and eliminates the odors. I ALWAYS have Kilz in my workshop! \r\nThank you for an outstanding product!

Not happy

★☆☆☆☆
I bought this paint on the recommendation of the salesman at our local SW store. $62 a gallon being very pricey, I thought it would be a simpler easier project...not so! I was only covering a beige flat latex with Emerald matte in a blue color. After three coats I am still seeing color variations and spots. It is not the prep, there were no issues there, it is the paint. I would not recommend this paint at all.
- J Corley

Kilz Klear

★★★★☆
I have used this product to prime drywall repairs, knockdown texture previously painted with builder\\\'s flat paint and it performed very well. Smells the same as Zinsser Gardz but its half the price for those jobs where budget is an issue.\r\n\r\nIt is rated as an exterior/interior product. I will be using it soon to prime a few brick chimneys where the previous coating is chalking. I will update after the job its done.
- Rent A Painter SA

Disappointing

★☆☆☆☆
Emerald paint application was challenging. We are a family of painters by trade and have painted countless times. But the coverage of this paint is poor. We typically use Benjamin Moore (still our favourite paint company) but this time wanted some new colors based on the ones we have seen on the houze app. Cannot judge other types from this company, but I think we are going back to what we know works well. Completely over priced for what you get.

These things are Awesome!!!

★★★★★
We were the spraying dryfall on the ceiling of one of the stores in the mall. I asked my lead painter to try the Pro Blocker Ninja Protective Eyeware we received. He reported \\\"these things are AWESOME!!\\\". He indicated that he was able to see the entire time and that and that the goggles kept 75%-80% of the paint out of his eyes. He definitely wants another pair.

Bucket Buddy

★★☆☆☆
The thought is good , however as a pro I just could not find it useful. Maybe for the Home owner is would work. Just not for me \r\nThanks for allowing me to try it. I would send it out to someone else to try it wanted\r\nHarold in New Jersey
- Harold Stone

Maybe for a DIYer

★★☆☆☆
After taking one look at the Bucket Buddy I knew it wasn\\\'t a tool I\\\'d likely use, but I gave it a fair chance anyway. The premise is good but as I professional painter the problems this tool is meant to address have already been solved. \r\nProfessional paint pants have numerous pockets for carrying tools, and through experience painters know how to safely carry a cut bucket and dip without making a mess.\r\n\r\nWearing the Bucket Buddy hindered my speed because I was constantly concerned about hitting into freshly painted door jams and walls. \r\n\r\nWhile not a professional tool I can see it being very useful to a inexperienced DIY\\\'er.
- Ryan Briggs

Disapointed

★★☆☆☆
I gave this product to my lead painter to try. unfortunately he didn\\\'t provide me with the positive feedback I had hoped for. His complaint was that it doesn\\\'t stand upright, nor does it hold enough paint. He also indicated that he felt if he strapped it to his belt like they show in the pictures he would spill paint every where, something our high end clients would not appreciate.

Bucket buddy

★☆☆☆☆

Hands free is a nice option sometimes

★★★☆☆
I tried the Bucket Buddy in several different different tasks while I was on an interior painting project.\r\nIt really wasn\\\'t practical for me while working at the first floor level. But, where I did find it useful was while I was painting 22\\\' up on an extension ladder in a skylight. It was much more easy and safer to climb the ladder with both of my hands free from holding a cut pot and brush. \r\nOver all this would be a good product for the DIY\\\'er or the Pro Painter just to have in the van for unique situations that may arise where you need to have your hands free but a cut pot and brush readily available when needed.
- Paul Peck

KOVRD storage bag

★★★★★
In my opinion a true worthy product in the painting industry is one that if you turn your back a painter will steal it and take it with him. I have lost three of these on the job site to painters who have felt the urge to own it without paying for it. This is a WONDERFUL product. No painter should own just one. Every painter should have multiples of this. If you are painting three colors it is so easy with this to have all three setups at the same time and all with fresh paint, fresh rollers, and paint that is kept fresh in a KOVRD storage bag. \r\n\r\nOnly thing I would add is BUY YOUR OWN, and leave mine alone. Great product... 5 stars all day long

pro-x 330 eggshell

★★★★★
The very best wall paint on the market for the money. It is a true eggshell less shiney than most. Great coverage. Paint goes on nice and smooth.
- Tom Caulfield

It works!

★★★★☆
The Bucket Buddy makes it very easy to move multiple five gallon buckets. Bucket Buddy is very capable of withstanding the weight of two five gallon buckets. This product is ideal for interior commercial jobs, not so much for exterior as it is difficult to push or pull through the grass with multiple five gallon buckets. Bucket Buddy is also nice for transporting tools and baseballs for weekend batting practice as two five gallon buckets of balls don’t weigh as much as the paint. Nice product to help with transporting heavy multiple gallons of paint that otherwise could easily injure ones back if not lifted properly.\r\n
- Steve Gloyer

Fantastic tool!

★★★★★
I picked up this product at a hardware store in the San Fernando Valley. It was a great deal! We are currently painting a hotel and this product saved us a lot of time and effort moving around our paint and supplies. At just $40, this tool is a bargain. The more I use it, I realize how many other ways i can use it other than painting. Thanks Bucket Buddy!

Roll-A-Bucket Is AMAZING!

★★★★★
Wow! What an amazing product! It makes painting interiors, exteriors, floors, decks, and patios a breeze. We were sliding regular paint trays on the floor or moving them from place to place, which is, obviously, inefficient, messy, and difficult. With the Roll-A-Bucket, you get a sturdy pail that you do not have to keep refilling or wiping up drips that flow over the sides. Not only is the Roll-A-Bucket innovative and practical, it is extremely well built with durable plastic and sturdy rubber wheels. It rolls so smoothly, and, without feeling like it is going to fall apart on you. We are continuously using this product and it has helped us get jobs done faster, cleaner and with less backaches!\r\n\r\nIf you are thinking about trying the Roll-A-Bucket, go for it! You will super happy you did!\r\n\r\n

Top notch

★★★★★
First off Max...he paints a topcoat within an hour of priming isnt a solid painter. Peel bond is outstanding. Used it on badly weathered and spider webbed cedar lapboard. Does wonders. I let my coatings cure at least 24hrs based on weather/humidity. Great product.

Best Paint I've ever used

★★★★★
I find it funny reading all these results and wondering how a moron could give this paint a low rating. This paint is the best paint I've ever used. Coverage is great. Levels nicely. The finish is incredible. You can wash it, scrub it. Got everything done in one coat. Anyone who submitted a low rating is an idiot who clearly just can't paint and shouldn't paint.

A MUST have for...

★★★★★
...anyone doing cabinets, doors, trim in bulk... This system is so easy to use, keeps the job looking so professional and just saves so much time. I have bought two systems for my painters and to a person both crews use them on every job they can. 500' of new baseboard all stacked on this system sure screams professional when a customer peeks at the jobsite. A whole kitchen full of cabinets doors and drawer fronts all lined up neatly drying look so much better than scattered around a garage leaning all over each other. Truly a great product. Thank you

Not What It's Cracked up to be

★★★☆☆
I have used it on walls and trim. The performance on walls was actually pretty good, but not one coat coverage. I was painting a white wall a dark gray. Coverage was good, but I still had to put a light coat over for 100% coverage. The trim required a full second coat and the application was a learning experience. Marquee needed to be applied fairly heavy, but if you went too heavy it would run, too light and it definately needed two coats. Also, you had to be careful not to over brush or over roll or you started lifting paint back off the surface. It was difficult to work with. I don't think it was worth the money.

Disappointed

★★★☆☆
I recently bought interior Marque paint and I have to say I am a bit disappointed. I's not a one coat paint as explained to me at Home Depot, why? When trying to go back into an area I had previously painted with in the last 5-10 minutes it either got thick and left visible brush marks or if you did so with the roller it would pull the paint off the wall somewhat. I had hoped to complete my project in one day, but I feel the need to allow areas to dry thoroughly to sand to do retouch that should have never happened. I have used the Behr primer and one that originally came out a few years ago and I find I prefer that product over the Marque.
- lori Clayton

Homemaker

★★☆☆☆
I was disappointed in the paint as the coverage was poor. Painted over a white wall and can see uneven areas plus shadows after it dried so need to do another coat. Color was good and paint did not drip. The paint is expensive and should have better coverage.
- Karen Altman

not a one-coat paint

★★☆☆☆
I recently used the marquee paint. It is definitely not a one coat paint! I wrote to the company as they claim this is guaranteed. I feel for the cost of the paint they should refund for making a claim that is not true.

Disappointed

★☆☆☆☆
I have used Behr interior paints (including Behr Ultra)for years and been very pleased with the results. However, that is not the case with Behr Marquee. Even thought the color on the wall was very close to the Behr Marquee shade, the coverage was not good, in fact not as good as previous experiences with Behr paint. I will not be using this product again.

Great book from someone who has been in the trenches

Steve Burnett lived it, worked it and then wrote it. It is nice to read a book from someone who has walked the walk and can relate to my day to day dealings with my business. His ideas and experience have opened my eyes to new ways to brand myself and business, get the "word' out and have people WANT to work with me. Thanks Steve for writing this book.

A fresh new perspective on marketing

★★★★★
In the last year, I've read several books on marketing. Most of them take me over a week to read because they are boring and full of stuff that is hard to read through. I finished this book in less than 24 hours. Steve wrote this book from a great perspective that makes it easy to read and easy to learn from. The book has information that can help any new business get a solid focus on their marketing techniques. But it's also a great read for more seasoned businesses who need to re-grasp the core marketing ideas that make good businesses great businesses.

A book you will read multiple times!

★★★★★
Like Steve, I read everything I can get my hands on to improve myself and business. Moments after the release of this book, I purchased it in anticipation to absorb every word of it. Steve and I have lived similar paths and having followed him online, I was anxious to get my copy and emulate his success. As a business owner it is a excellent reminder of what we truly could/should be doing more of and as a new business owner; it is paramount you read his book and template each chapter for a successful business start. Steve's book has earned its place in my intellectual library beside all of my favorite business/ sales and marketing Guru's!

My New Business Bible

★★★★★
Without a doubt this book has literally turned my business in a new direction. That direction is upward to new heights I didn't know I could reach! I have been stuck in a 90's marketing mentality of thinking I can't market my business, because I don't have enough money to advertise in the nice magazines. Well, Steve has laid out in this book how soooo wrong I was. Steve methodically tells you how to market your business without spending big money, through techniques he himself has proven to be successful. I could go on and on about the value of this book. This is a must have for anyone in the painting business or any business!

Works but OMG the smell

★★☆☆☆
This product seals wonderfully but the smell is overwhelming. We covered a cooking oil stain on a kitchen ceiling and my painter was supposed to use it on a smoky bathroom ceiling as well. I met him at the job midday and he told me he only did the oil stain as he simply could not stand the smell. Does the product work. YES. Can it be used? Questionable.

always used excellent product

★★★★★
I wanted to comment on the "brush away" product first. I use them every day at the job site. After brushing each day, I simply wrap the brush and put it in the tube, and it holds 3 large brushes, the 3" ones that I use. So for example, I have wall color, trim, and primer. That's 3 brushes. I might not use the trim until a few weeks after I start on wall color, so when I go to the tube and pull out my fresh brush, it's just like it was put in there for a day. No crustiness, no hardened brush, nothing. Also, if I pack up for a weekend, and come back on Mon to start again, all brushes are fresh like I left them. When I leave the job site and throw my painted brushes in my work bin, and take all my tools back to my van to go to the next job, usually my brushes get crushed and squished and often wrecked in transit with all the other tools. When I have 3 or so brushes in the "brush away" product, it protects and keeps them safe moving them. So simple! The same for the roller sleeves in the "roll away". A great example is the house I'm on now, I did the ceiling first, and then about a month later when I was done the walls and trim, I did final ceiling touch ups. Well, when I went to the tube and took out my sleeve, it was just like a brand new tube that had been stored in there for a day. This is a MUST for all painters, and all do it yourself home owners. I use it daily and weekly. They are simple and great! I am also renovating my own home, while I work as a painter. So about two months ago, I did trim at my place. When I took the brush and sleeve out of the tubes, same thing, just like I'd left them, not crusty or wrecked or dried out. With any do it yourself job, you don't get around to painting all that often at your own place as you're too busy. So this is ideal for that simple type of job. Keeps the brushes and roller sleeves ready when you are, with large amounts of time passing until you need them. Excellent product, I will use them for good!

Peeling paint, poor coverage, smells bad

★☆☆☆☆
We have used Sherwin Williams Duration paint before so we are new to this Emerald series, which is supposed to be the best and most expensive. Extremely unhappy with the paint as the coverage is very bad(the light colored previous wall color shows through). Pain started peeling near the baseboards within few hours and the painters had to rip it open and redo it and its not low VOC and it reeks of strong smell, almost like ammonia. One extremely unhappy customer!

We used it to to on a cigarette smoke covered popcorn ceiling. The smell was overpowering at first, (but so was the cigarettes) with the right ventilation and a mask it was manageable. The outcome was very impressive.

Roll Away

★★★★☆
Let me start off saying this is a very good product. We received our Roll Away last week and put it to work right away. Storing was simple and the clean up was awesome. We let a roller cover sit for almost a week and it was fresh and ready to roll. There was one thing that as a residential painter as my self thought it could use. It would be more convenient if there was an option to leave the cage on, other than that we have no complaints and we think the Roll Away is an excellent product. Keep up the good work!

Worked as Advertised

★★★★☆
First impressions are always the most important. When I received the brush away my first impression was that it was rather bulky. Fitting it in the tool box wasn't going to happen and I'd have to make sure I kept somewhere safe from being crushed. I gave this product a pretty good test. I was on a job where I wasn't returning to for another ten days to finish up trim after the floors went in. I had two brushes in semi-gloss so I put one in the brush away and wrapped one in regular painters plastic. When I returned ten days later both brushes where still fresh but the brush in the painters plastic had lost its form. That's where the product shines. It keeps it wet while at the same time keeping the brushes shape. The same is true for transporting brushes home to wash. A lot of times brushes wrapped in just plastic get crushed and ruined, the brush away solves that problem. All in all its a good product that solves a problem. It's a little on the bulky side which means it needs to carry it's weight to justify keeping it around. The brush away did just that and I've been using it ever since.

Roll Away

★★★★☆
I put my trial Roll Away to the test when there was a month long pause in work on one particular job site. With my Wooster Sherlock cage it was easy for me to slip the inner plastic sleeve over the cover and give it a rap on the edge of my utility sink to release and slip into the outer plastic container with no mess or difficulty. When I returned to the cover a month later, the paint and colossus cover were just as wet as when I first stored it. It was equally easy to slip back onto the cage and with no mess. For this long term experiment it did serve its purpose and the product did do what it was supposed to do. I would like to see the inner plastic sleeve made out of a recycled or biodegradable plastic since you have to throw that plastic sleeve away if you're switching to another paint color. As an environmentally conscience paint contractor, I'm very aware of the amount of waste that I send to landfills and am always looking for more ways to reduce. I spend a lot of money on the best quality brushes and covers and want to get the most use out of them possible. I could see this product being useful for storing my ceiling paint cover from job to job but other than that I don't think it's a totally necessary addition to my work kit. I do love that someone is out there thinking about ways to cut down on contractors just tossing covers out after one use. To be completely honest though, what I've gleaned from various forums and groups is that some people will always think tossing their covers out after one use is the most efficient and cost effective way to operate and those same people seem to not give very much thought to the environment.

I have had very good results with Behr paints but the Marquee is a complete disappointment. The paint is not a one coat paint like they claim nor is it fade resistant. One and a half years later the paint is now two different shades from where the sun hits the house. I would not buy this paint again.

This is the worst experience painting I have ever had. The paint is very temp.sensitive. does not level like claims. 200 sq. Ft per gal are you kidding me. For 75.00 gal retail. You are talking 150.00 to do the same as most any other products on the market. Can't spread it like others so you can't make good time. ★☆☆☆☆
Sadly after reading all these comments wish I would of looked at this sight before buying this paint. Definitely not a one coat painty. What 2 gallons should of covered took a little over 3. After the competition of our project which was a couple weeks later when hanging things back up the paint would chip when anything would touch it. Would definitely not recommend this product what so ever. I love all the other Behr products just not this one

Not worth it

★★☆☆☆
I am so disappointed in this paint!! I had a small room with a light blue gray color and wanted something that would cover in one coat...this paint was not it. I have worked on paint crews before and should have followed my instinct and gone with two coats of a less expensive paint! This paint streaks badly and now will have to purchase other paint to cover it up. Twice the work and three times the money!! Will not use again!!!

Good looking, durable finish. Low workability time.

★★★★☆
Pros: Matte gave a really nice looking finish quality. Finish seems hard, durable, and very scrubable. Excellent adhesion! Used the Satin over semi-gloss and stuck like crazy with no sanding of old paint. Could not scrape it off even after a couple hours. Semi-gloss also has excellent adhesion over old semi-gloss, again without sanding. The semi-gloss seems to have a softer, more rubbery feel than the matte did once cured, as per the fingernail press test. Cons: Biggest downside by far was a VERY short window of workability. All three finshes dry very quickly! You need to be very careful about rolling or brushing finishing strokes - more than about 3 minutes and it's already tacky and will not be wet-workable. Roll over after that and you've messed up the finish quality badly! Cleanup can also be a real pain. If it's on your hands for 5 minutes, you already have to use a scrub pad, or alcohol or acetone. Water and soap will not clean it off in that very short time.

Concrobium Mold Control

★★★★☆
Turns out Concrobium has several products. I have only tried their Mold Control which I purchased at Home Depot. The Mold Control is not so much for removing the stain, but rather for halting it's growth and protecting the surface from further Mold. From My research, the dark stains are really not the Mold itself, but rather a by-product of the spores. Apparently (this is according to what I learned so check it out for yourself) the spores secrete the black stuff in order to break down whatever food source they find. This makes sense to me because the spores themselves are invisible to the naked eye, which is why I almost always treat whatever surface I'm about to paint as though it has mold on it (because it probably does. All this to say that when using this particular product you may not see the stains vanish as with their other product which is designed to do so. It is important to remember when using a product such as this, that any moisture needs to be addressed so as to mitigate (fancy word for "help prevent") Mold growth. I plan on calling the company to see if their products can be used and then painted over without removal. Mold remediation is a very tricky business. The more you try to learn, the more confusing it can be, and everyone has their own take on it. Bleach or Clorox will kill spores on hard surfaces (non-porus like formica etc.) but is very poor at getting to the spores on porous things like wood or painted wood. Remember, Bleach is just that, it bleaches things, it doesn't clean them. Just because the stain is gone, doesn't mean the spore is killed. I like to tell people this: If I spill Bleach on My red shirt, it turns the area white, but the shirt is still there! Often times it is the same way with mold; the stain is eliminated while the spore is still alive and it will grow again Concrobium is just the opposite (again, I'm refering to the Mold Control, not their stain remover). I live in Hawaii where Mold is a big problem, so I am very passionate about the subject.I have a few trade secrets, but I also like to share a lot of information. Heres one you may or may not have seen on the shelf lately; It's called "Mold Killing Primer" by Zinser. Home Depot has it as well as Lowes. So far the paint companies don't carry it here in Hawaii. Hope this helps.

Epic & Game Changing

This book and the author Steve Burnett have offered so many valuable missing links to my business. What I love about the book is that every practice in it was lived out by a real person running a real painting company. Through trial, error, and success Steve Burnett delivers gold in this great read and engaging storytelling. 6 months down the road from my first introduction of "how to double your business without making a sale" the first word that pops into my head is thankful! Implementing the knowledge from this book has given me comfort looking down the road at my business, the people I meet along the way, and the way I approach every opportunity to deliver a great painting experience.

It was okay

★★☆☆☆
Last week I put the caulk to the test and used about 6 tubes. We caulked both large gaps and small around base boards, door jams, and window frames. Pros: This caulk is super easy to work with. Keeping a damp rag with you easily gets it off your hands and it has a long enough open time to tool without pulling. I was able to paint over it within an hour in some areas without a problem Cons: Shrinkage on larger gaps was more than I would have liked but I've used a lot worse. My biggest gripe is air bubbles in the tube. Whether or not you're using a dripless caulk gun this stuff will continue to leak, even with the gun disengaged. The reason for this is small pockets of air in the tube. When the plunger of the gun pushes the caulk it compresses the air pocket which will then causes the compressed air to continue pushing out the caulk even without pressure from the gun. Eventually you'll get past the air bubble, and can actually hear it pop as it comes out. Once past it the tube will no longer drip. Conclusion: For me the air bubbles are a deal breaker. It's a time killer constantly making sure I'm not leaking caulk all over the place. It's one thing is it's a fluke tube but this was the case in every tube I tried. For that reason alone I will not continue to use this caulk.

We typically use bleach type products and they do an ok job on most decks. Thumbs Up!

★★★★★
My name is Ted Rinshed and I'm the owner of Eco Star Painting of Calgary. The cost of Drywall primers has gone up recently so i decised to search for a more cost friendly alternative. I think I've found one: Kilz General Purpose Primer...It is a water based primer/sealers with a low VOC content. Purpose: I required a primer to seal the drywall compound in a business I was painting. The drywall damage was extensive as I used over a full bucket of all purpose drywall compound to repair the damage. From my experience, if you don't seal the drywall compound after sanding it will "flash" throught the finish coats. Application: I brushed and rolled the Kilz primer with a 15MM lint free sleeve. It rolled beautifully and didn't splatter... I had the primer tinted to the finish coat colour and it covered very very well. Conclusion: Kilz General Purpose Primer is a definte thumbs up! It performed as well as the more expensive primer/sealers I've used at a much lower cost per gallon. I purchased the Kilz primer at Home Depot but other stores may carry it as well. The only negative I have is that these tarps are a bit on the heavy side compared to traditional cloth tarps. The nice thing about them is they don't soak up mater so you can leave them outside in the rain. they're also less prone to Mold growth. Another nice thing about them is that if you use them to tent a house when spraying and they happen to blow into the painted surface, them don't stick as badly.

Kleen Edge Masking Tape

★★★★☆
A good product but could be better. Let me explain... It is easier to use than blue tape because it's more like using a straight-edge. It's rigid so it keeps a truer line. The thing I have found trouble with is that it is not as sticky as blue tape and tends to come loose. If it were not for this, I would use it exclusively.

Works Hard for You

★★★★★
Used the Hard Coat on some Behr Interior Ultra satin... One of my complaints in the past with some of Behr's paint has been that it is soft or takes a long time to harden. Not any more! This stuff seems to have really worked on giving the paint a nice hard surface, and pretty much in no time at all (paints usually harden of a corse of a couple weeks). I wanted to wait for a worthy project to try the Paint Harden out. Baseboards in a new room is what I used it on because they need to stand up to vacuuming and getting scraped and bumped. I hate using Oil, so the Hard Coat is a God send.

Kleen Edge Masking Tape

★★★☆☆
Product #329410 6" and the smaller one as well. Very excited to put this tape to the test. Applied to baseboards after covering all the flooring. The 6" tape provided a crisp line and overlapped onto my drop cloths, eliminating any worry about over spray hitting the base. Returned the next day to find that a large amount of the tape had released from the baseboards due to , high humidity, 75 degree ttemps.this item has a designation on the package of "Low Adhesion" which unfortunately cost me hours to remedy. If there was a mid to high adhesion version of this product I would give it another shot. It is my opinion that it may work well in an absolutely clean and controlled temperature environment like filtered shop. However most job sites don't meet this criteria.

Wearing these coveralls, with a respirator and goggles, you need to expect some Breaking Bad comments to come your way. Great product. You Must Be Kidding! Awful!

★★☆☆☆
I'm a retired union painter and have used every type of paint you can imagine from latex flat to epoxy on large commercial jobs like NASA, and military government bases. I've also done a lot of new home construction. I purchased this paint since I decided to start painting a bedroom on a Sunday afternoon and the store is much closer than the Benjamin Moore store 25 miles away that I have been a patron of for over 25 years. Big mistake! I used two colors: One on an accent wall, and another on the rest. The accent wall is painted a dark navy, and the rest a creamy beige/gold. The main area paint went on well over a medium shade of taupe requiring only one coat. It has no visible sheen, no roller marks, brush marks, etc.. When I started the navy accent wall, the paint seemed very thin, and wasn't covering well at all. I had to go and buy more today since it didn't cover well, and spoke about it to the manager. He suggested their brand of polyester roller cover even though I had used the same thing in Wooster brand. I took the bait, and bought it. It really did help the application, but once the second coat dried you could see shiny roller marks, and very visible brush marks in the corners and everywhere else I cut in even though I was using a brand new Purdy brush meant for this type of paint. Needless to say I'm not happy this small job has turned into a 3 day project since tomorrow I will either roll on another coat, or give up and go back for a can of flat, depending on what the manager says when I call in the morning. Seriously, I have used Behr paint for customers who supplied their own that out performed this by a long shot. Next time I'll just wait until I can get to my regular BM store. With all of the driving back and forth to SW I'm doing, I've probably put on more miles than I would have going to BM. Not to mention all of my wasted time. What an ordeal. Lesson learned. I'm giving this product two stars based on the coverage on the taupe walls. I didn't think the cleanup was all that great. It really dries and sticks hard to even a plastic roller pan insert. What little I did get on my skin was hard to scrub off, too. Not sure this even deserves more than one star. Oh, well...

Very good tool. We have used it on numerous jobs and different size of roller covers. The Curly Q is very efficient and saves a lot of time and paint when you go to clean up at the end of the day. I highly recommend this product.

Kleen Edge Masking tape

★★☆☆☆
As a residential repainter we were excited to try out Kleen Edge on baseboards homeowners elected not to have painted. After cleaning the baseboards and allowing to dry, the stuck well and gave a clean edge. Our objection to using this product again is that anywhere you overlap Kleen Edge ontop of another piece of Kleen Edge it fails to stick together. We prepped a whole room with Kleen Edge on the baseboards, pressed it all with a 5in1 and clean dry rag only to see wherever it overlapped falling off. We resorted to pulling all of it and remasking with a competitors product. We were less than pleased with the performance.

Trimaco X Board

★★★★★
Trimaco X Board is a great way to protect newly refinished surfaces of your painting post floor refinishing. Easy to handle and I feel it curls less than Ramboard. If you want "bulletproof" floor protection this is it. Also... We have used leftovers for spray shields under fencing for repurposing. Great product!

Eliminator Drop Cloth

★★★☆☆
They are definitely leak proof, but they have a heavy plastic smell and weigh quite a bit more than other drop cloths. I have been using Trimaco's Butyl II tarps for interiors, and I still prefer them over the Eliminator. However I could see the Eliminator runners being better for stairs, as the Butyl II drops really fall short in that area.

S.W. PrimeRx Peel Bonding Primer

★★★★★
I just used 4 gallons of Prime Rx Peel Bonding Primer and was very impressed. I applied it to T1-11 siding that was chipping and peeling really bad. Before applying I performed all the normal prep to all the damaged/ peeling areas, pressure washed, followed by wire brushes and scrapers, and lastly I took an orbital sander to the whole house to kind of smooth out imperfections and scuff up the existing paint to increase top coat adhesion. After prepping I used the Prime RX to spot prime all the damaged areas. I was very impressed with the ease of application, dry time, and how thick it was. Even though it was dry to the touch in about 2 hours I still allowed it to dry for 48 hours. I then put a top coat of Sherwin Williams Supper Paint. All the peeling areas and imperfections are un recognizable even after the 1st coat, but I still applied a 2nd coat, because that's just what you have to do if you want to put a warranty on your work. In my experience ( I've peen painting professionally for 12 years and owned my company ALL IN ONE WA. for 2 years www.allinonewa.com) Primer RX Peel Bonding is one of the best primers I have used. I have painted many exterior houses here in the North West where paint was peeling and chipping. Performed the same exact prep techniques as above but used Zinsser Bulls Eye, Killz, and other primers to only have imperfections show afterwards, and in result have to apply more coats, or fix it with All Purpose Bondo. I've also used Zinsser Peel Stop 3x thick. It's good primer also but I found that I had to apply 2 coats to get the results Sherwin Williams Primer Rx Peel Bonding Primer, this stuff works great, but don't skip out on the normal prepping steps.

Behr Marquee

★☆☆☆☆
This is NOT a 1 coat paint. I got a rich orange colour and it took 4 coats to cover a light beige. I used Purdy rollers and saturated the roller as per the instructions on their website. I went back to Home Depot for more paint as I ran out after one wall and got them to colour match it into CIL Duo which worked perfectly in two coats. Was also twenty bucks cheaper. Won't be using Behr again

Disposable Car Covers

★★★★★
This is a great idea to reduce prep time when spraying an exterior. (I consider extra prep work the same as down time and have to eat the cost.) Sometimes it may be a neighbor's car and unable to be moved so it needs to be protected and this is the quickest way available to get back to work.

Marquee Semi-Gloss Exterior

★☆☆☆☆
I love Behr products and always used them in our projects. Also, we had used the interior eggshell marquee paint and been very satisfied. We invested in the exterior semi-gloss paint for a beadboard porch ceiling. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED! I'm not sure we would have taken on this project if we thought it was going to need two coats! We used good brushes, an "approved" marquee colour and heavy coats but it is still not one coat coverage. I am frustrated and angry. The paint is also very expensive. I had read reviews of the exterior marquee paint on Homedepot.com but chose to ignore the poor ratings - regret that I did not heed the warnings.

Concrobium Mold Control

★★★★☆
I was very hesitant to spend $28 for a gallon of this product. I bought it along with a good spray bottle. I sprayed the product wherever I saw suspicious areas on my basement floor. I was expecting a big stink from the product but noticed -0- odor. Within an hour or so I noticed that the moldy smell was gone. I regret that I didn't wear better PPE because I got a nasty sore throat for a few days - likely from unhappy mold spores? I'm concerned that when we recarpet this floor in a few weeks that everything will return???

Tyvec coveralls

★★★★★
These coveralls were perfect for spraying dry fall in mass quantity. The zipper quality was great and never had a snag all day long. I had clean pant legs even after direct dripping on the leg of the suit to test for leak through. All stitching held up great as well. Id definitely buy this suit again...

Eliminator Drop

★★★★☆
I could see this being the perfect tarp for loading in on a project during snowy season. Its remarkably heavy so we knocked off one star. We used this tarp on about 5 jobs in a row before pitching it. I would not risk trying to wash one of these in a standard washing machine. No seeping even after stain, latex, coverstain, and spar varnish got on the Eliminator. Its a solid tarp and does what it says, just a bit too heavy for tarping rooms out every day with in my own opinion.

snot tape

★☆☆☆☆
I retract my earlier comment. Yesterday I used what was left of the roll of tape for flat paint surfaces and it performed very badly. Every few feet it pulled off not only the paint but the drywall as well. I spent 4 hours fixing this mess. Would I use this product again? No freeking way.I would not even rate this product after this disaster *Editors Note, see comment from 'Snot Tape below

Trimaco X Board

★★★★★
This product is fantastic! We used it for moving our power washer, airless sprayer and other equipment on a hardwood floor in a high end downtown condo. The customer was so pleased we didn't mark up or scratch his floors. We also use this product for spraying deck railings and tape on a house to prevent over spray. It works as a great protection when sealing patio pavers and concrete. The thin but, sturdy construction makes this a much better option than rolled paper. -owner/Deck Escapes Staining & Beyond, LLC

★★★★☆
The product is definitely leak proof. It is very heavy and difficult to haul around to the job sites. We do find it works great while restoring decks and fences on a windy day. Other drop clothes have to have bricks or stones to hold them in place. -Owner/Deck Escapes Staining & Beyond, LLC

Alex Fast Dry

★★★★★
My company received a couple sample tubes of Alex Fast Dry. My painters were very happy with the results from using it. The caulk flowed smoothly and applied evenly. We were able to paint within 30 minutes and the caulk did not show brush lines or any shine marks. I would recommend this product to others and continue to use it at our company. Thank you for the trial run.

Alex Plus

★★★★★
I am a big fan of Alex Plus for quite a while. I tried some of the newer product and thought it worked great. It dries nice and smooth and ready to paint in 30 mins. Paint covers really well and creates a nice joint. Caulk holds up for a long time.

Come on and stop.... NO ONE else thought of this first. An incredible time saver and certainly keeps the job site clean and looking professional. Always nice when the customer see a job moving along and its tidy and clean. Thank YOU for a great product. emerald matte and satin

★☆☆☆☆
What I can usually get done in two days has already taken four. Have NEVER had this problem before in over fifteen years. One room took five coats to get a solid finish.Think I will put painting process on yyoutube and compare to show difference for all the ones who want to say whoever is complaining about this paint does not know how to paint and also for all the ppl who will loose money and buy a poor product. By the way, the home I am painting now is a 1.2 million dollar home, you do not get jobs and steady work like this without being really good and serious about your work.

BEHR Marquee

★★☆☆☆
Not a one coat coverage. I followed the manufactures instructions regarding roller nap. Trim is 2 coats, if you apply it really heavy to cover the wall it runs, if you go over it too much with roller the paint comes off the wall. It dries out fast on your brushes and very thick paint. Not with the money. Going back to BEHR Ultimate.

Sherwin Williams Emerald Exterior Gloss

★☆☆☆☆
I'm a professional painter and this is by far the worst paint I have ever used. It dried so fast on a not hot and not humid day that we had about 30 seconds open time. Paint dragged and streaked and did not self level at all. Poor coverage. Had sheen mismatch problem. We tried every trick in the book to make this work out and it didn't . Never use this again. Called the store and they said they never heard of problems with this paint...hmmm. There are certainly a lot of people here who do.

Emerald

★☆☆☆☆
I used Sherwin Williams paint when I rebuilt my house 7 years ago. I have been using pro-classic for trims and duration for walls. We decided to repaint one of the rooms and I was the Emerald is the new product and more superior. I found the coverage is extremely poor. I have to brush all the edging 3 times in order to fully cover. Roller I have to go over twice. This is not a one coat painting. Mind you the original color is a light white and I used the classic Ivory for the new paint. I used Matt finish and the touch is different from Duration. Disappointing.....

Hard Coat

★★★★★
After having problems at the paint store getting the paint that I wanted to use for this project, I settled for paint that is great, but not known for its hardness. So I added Hard Coat to the final coat of paint and I was extremely happy with the byproduct of adding excellent workability to the paint. I used it for some doors in a dog training facility so I will have to go back in the future to see how it holds up, but for now I am very happy with it.

Snot Tape

★★★★★
We use snot tape on a difficult exterior brick ledge. Wow, we got a razor sharp line even in the mortar joints. I see this as a very versatile product to use in the most hard to mask rough surfaces. The bead of adhesive contours very well to porous brick and textured walls. I will use it again.

'Snottape

★★★★☆
I used this on a a tub surround area with uneven tiles (the name of which escapes me at the moment) at the ceiling line and it worked out great for me. I would suggest a slow pull to remove it, because when I purposely pulled it fast to see what would happen, the adhesive came off in little"balls" in just a couple of spots and was annoying to pick off. It wasn't enough to say I won't use it again.

Quickn' Clean Bucket liners

★★★★★
These do exactly what they claim to do. Saves time (and money) with a no mess quick cleanup. I was also able to leave my paint in the roller bucket overnight by carefully folding one side over the other and sealing tightly for a fast and easy startup the next day.

SUV Disposable car cover

★★★★★
This is the kind of product you would hope to never need. And then you are spray painting the garage doors and the customers car is still there. Somehow forgotten in the busyness of their day and it could have been a mess. But this sure beats messing with a roll of plastic and hoping all corners were covered. Very easy to put on. We were very comfortable that the entire car was covered. And we carefully took it off and will use it again. Thank you and a great product.

This is an intelligent way to reduce prep time. I consider preparation to be up to 80 0r 90 percent of many exterior paint jobs and this is a welcome deduction of that expense.

Sherwin-Williams Emerald

★★★★★
From a real pro...I was extremely skeptical when a client requested Emerald by SW. I used interior Matte and Satin....both excellent coverage. Actually surprised me. Have since used in my own home. I have only used exterior Satin Emerald. Colors were bright and still covered in one coat! Again this was on my own house. Don't believe the haters. Emerald is well worth it...as is Benny Moore Aura. Both are great paints.

Valley Pro Quickn Clean Liners

★★★★★
Tested the liners for the Purdy 18" dual roll off bucket. Purdy' s hard plastic liner comes in a 3 pack. Retails for $17-$25 depending on where you get them. These Quickn Clean Liners are seriously a fraction of that cost. Tested 15 of them, no tearing, no trying to fit a bulky plastic liner into a garbage can after the job, they work wonderfully! The best part for me, is the price. Here is my math- 5- 3 packs of hard purdy liners@$17=$85 3-5 packs of Quickn Clean Liners @ $5.65=$16.95 $68.05 in my pocket... That's a significant amount of money in my pocket every 2 weeks.

Hello bloggers so I received my attamark brush yesterday and put it to work asap ,,we'll to start off I like the brush very much but would prefer a 2.5 do to after it loads up after long use it gets heavy but also it has great drag and shape , halfway through the night I cleaned brush out to check how it cleaned out and would go back into paint and great results it went right back into shape with cut great lines I would definitely keep it in the arsenal we will definitely see how it holds up after a solid month of use I would definitely like to try there oval line in a 2.5 thanks Chris Haught Don's Quality Painting

Attamark 3" anglepolyester

★★★★☆
According to my painters, The brush is very nice and holds a lot of paint, however it is rather heavy especially when loaded with paint. Even though the brush tends to be a little heavy all of my painters indicated that they would definitely use this brush again as it leaves clean crisp cut lines and cleans up very nicely at the end of the day.

attamark 3"

★★★★☆
I like this brush! I had a little bit of a learning curve in the beginning... it felt a little loose. Once I got going, the chiseled bristles made for a fine cut line. I especially liked how it pushed into the corners. Cleaning was a breeze and it held it's form nicely for the next day. I will be interested to see the price point and how well it holds up long term. emerald matte

★☆☆☆☆
We used this product for the first time. Never again. We applied matte finish over SW super paint flat. Same color. First coat really soaked in. Understandable. Second coat flashed, showed every roller and brush mark, and looked like different colors in all the cut in areas. After complaining to my rep. I got 4 more gallons free. After the 3rd coat, it looked worst. Never had this problem with any other SW paints, or Behr.

Attamark 3

★★★★☆
At first glance the attamark brush was similar to a proform Picasso without the oval ferrule. I thought the brush performed well for eggshell cut ins over builders flat and quite honestly it cleans very well. It has a great tip and releases paint well. We cut in three rooms with it and it kept its paint pick up and release over three days of washing and drying. My only concern is comfort from this brush. The handle could be shortened and a little thicker at the grip. Otherwise it performed great and I'll use it again

Attamark 3" Angle Sash

★★★★★
Received this and offered it to my lead painter to use. 25 years in the industry and a Wooster guy through and through. Very nice brush and attention to detail in the quality.

Palm Pro

★★★★☆
As professional painters, we have certain brushes for certain tasks. I believe the Zibra Palm Pro is a nice addition for the tight spaces or small projects. It held a little more paint than I anticipated, which was nice, but as a professional, time is money and it is just does not have an everyday use for me. I thought it was constructed rather well and made a nice clean paint line. I would like to see an improvement on the sleeve. The brush can slide out of the protector if it is not secure inside of a toolbox, which will lead to filament damage. Thank you, Zibra & Blogging Painters for sending me a test sample. Hope this review helps.

Zibra Palm pro

★★★★☆
The Zibra Palm pro brush is very unique for certain applications. This is the first brush I've used that actually has a diagram on the package of how to hold this very different brush. I feel the engineering design is ergonomically correct. It's comfortable, but it's short. I used it in several different areas where a tight straight line was needed for a professional result. A fully loaded Palm pro brush can go a long distance cutting a straight line with a experienced hand. It holds a lot of paint! Cutting in painted baseboards and casing sides is where I found this brush to hold an edge over others. The downside to the Palm pro brush is after several cleanings the filament tips began to curl slightly with typical latex acrylic paint use. It lost crisp cutting performance after about the third cleaning. Spinning this uniquely designed brush out is challenging but I found it will fit onto a roller spinner for faster back to service use. I spun this test brush out gently in order to not blow it out. I believe cleaning a brush out should always be included in testing a brush for professional longevity, in this case I found that I would have to replace this brush often. Even with that downside this is the best brush I've tested for blogging painters to date! I was surprised because I've always considered the brand a DIY brush maker. In this case it's a new tool that holds it worth in how my jobs finished jobs look. If the filaments didn't curl it would have received 5/5 stars. I will be keeping these on hand.
- Roger Coulter

Zibra 2" chisel wedge brush

★★☆☆☆
I really gave this brush my best shot at cutting in walls for residential repaints. Although it holds a great deal of paint fully loaded, the actual line it cuts leaves a heavy edge in the corner your cutting. For some that may be great, but if you need to make a second pass with that heavy bead of paint on the edge it resulted in overlap onto casing and ceiling for myself. Tried some thinned down paint just to see the same results. Maybe I'm not ready for this type of brush and how it's designed. After cleanings I noticed the filament tips curl in this brush as well after repeated attempts of trial using Benjamin Moore Ben eggshell. I gave the chisel wedge two stars because it turns out to be an ok spot priming brush if you feather out the edges. I appreciate to opportunity!

Trimaco X-Board

★★★★★
Used the X-board for the first time to protect some tile floors while staining kitchen cabinets. I thought it would be a good test since the product was thin, and it passed with flying colors. I have used brown paper and red rosin paper in the past, but I knew they wouldn't be up to the challenge of protecting the tile without putting a layer of plastic or tarps on top of them. It also doesn't seem to curl as bad on the outside edges as the thinner roll papers. The homeowner was also extremely impressed with the quality of paper that we used to protect her floors and countertops. It will definitely be one of our go to products for protecting hardwood and tile floors in the future.

Chisel Wedge

★★☆☆☆
I gave the chisel wedge a shot on both painting trim and cutting in wall paint. I found the brush very difficult to use when cutting in walls. The odd shape of the brush made me feel like I was painting again for the first time and trying to cut in to the ceiling or the trim in a corner was near impossible. After painting a closet with it I had to give up and use a normal brush. On trim the brush did a little better and held a lot more paint than I would have thought which was nice. The entire time I was using it I found myself wishing it was just normal shaped and 2.5inches instead of 2. I liked the material the bristles themselves were made of and if it came in a 2.5inch angled sash I wouldn't hesitate to try it again.

Attamark 3" Angle sash brush

★★★★☆
I used this brush with an eggshell finish paint with a medium tone coral color over white primer.. I felt the brush being a a little on the thick side, held a good amount of paint.. It also had good release and painted a nice clean line while laying the paint down smooth with minimal brush marks. It cleaned up well. I'm pleased with It's performance and will put it in my line up of cut brushes.. I'm also eager to try their oval line...

★★★☆☆
I rarely find a need for a short handle brush but was eager to give this one a try.. I loved the feel of the bristles and found the lines that it cuts exceptional.. That being said, I found, as did another reviewer, that after a couple of uses and cleanings, the filaments in the bristles began to curl.. I'd buy this brush but probably use it a couple of times then use it as a priming brush..

Ive done a couple of jobs now with these brushes and I must say I do like them quite a bit. The 3' sash is an exceptional brush thus far. Emerald Interior Satin

★☆☆☆☆
Worst paint I ever used. Allowed 1st coat to dry 24 hrs, then rolled second coat. 30 minutes later, large blisters formed, I could peel both coats of Emerald from the wall in large sheets. Sales guy says I must have done something wrong. I've been painting 40 yrs and never had this happen. I have used SWP since the 70's but I now am switching to BM. The only reason I am giving it 1 star is because I can't give negative stars.

3" Attamark sash brush

★★★★☆
The clean up was amazing! I am very hard on brushes as I don't always clean them right away. I think 2-3 days went by with the brush left in a plastic storage bag. The paint almost fell off! Spectacular. I usually use 2.5" brushes as I have smaller hands. It was heavy for me to cut lines. The cut lines were great tho. I think if I used a smaller brush, this would have resolved my issues. Great product.

I have been painting for thirty years. This is the worst paint ever, doesn't level, doesn't do anything right. It shows every angle and direction of the roller once dry. Presto Carpet Protection Film

★★★★☆
This product rolled out nicely. It provided a nice walkway through the home we were painting. I noticed that there was a good amount of traction to it while walking around and moving tools. I left it down for a week to see if it would come u, however it stayed in place with heavy foot traffic. When removing it, a lot of dirt and particles came off of the carpet leaving it cleaner than before. I did notice that I had to be careful with removal on the stairs as it really stuck to them, and could pull up the carpet. Great product overall. I could tell the homeowners appreciated the extra mile. Michael Craine Craine Painting LLC

Presto Floor Protection

★★★★☆
Used this product over hardwood flooring. Floors should be free of dust/hair before putting it down or it will have trouble sticking. This product is great as a perimeter runner for spill/dust protection! Less bulky than a drop cloth. I would recommend it for small jobs like drywall repair, painting an accent wall. Homeowners were very happy that I put it down immediately when I walked in, it gave them a good impression. Michael Craine Craine Painting LLC

carpet protection film

★★★★★
I was impressed by this product. The job was a rough one that had us scraping wall paper glue, mudding the entire room sanding, priming and painting. The homeowner was very clear that the carpet need not be harmed in the process so we applied the carpet film before we started. It was easy to put down and didn't take much time. We then convered the rest of the floor and the film with drops. We used a ton of water to get the glue off and we used a ton of mud after that. This was a messy job that took us 5 days. The film stayed sticky the entire time and didn't really come up at all even on the edges even when it was wet. After we were done we balled it up with all of the dried glue mud and dust on it and tossed it. It came up with no problem and the carpet looked great. There was no holes or tears anywhere in the film and nothing got through. I would definitely use this product again.

Presto Tape

★★★★★
We received our Presto floor protection last week and were very impressed. We had a small kitchen repaint that we refinished the cabinets and then painted the walls. We applied Presto floor protection with an ease. It rolled out nicely and when we removed it it did not leave any sticky residue. Presto floor protection is a very good product and recommend it to everyone.

Presto Carpet Protection

★★★★☆
We used the Presto carpet protection on a good size living room repaint we did. It was very easy to use and much easier to put down and leave then using drops. It removed very easily and is wide enough to catch all sprinkles from rolling. We have used other carpet covering products and they were never wide enough to efficiently cover carpet for all sprinkles. We highly recommend this product to anyone.

★★★★★
Had the opportunity to use this immediately upon receipt. What a nice product. High end home and it sure leaves a nice impression when the homeowner sees this level of care taken in their property. The product rolls out smooth, is very sturdy, and comes off easily. Great product and I will use this often.

Presto Floor protection

★★★★★
The hardwood floor protection product is surely a great way to protect nice quality floors. Yes latex paint can wash off a floor but it always would seem to get in a groove. Tarps can slide and even non slip will sometimes pull away from a wall. This product solves those issues. Great product easy to install and remove. Floors should be clean of dust before laying this down. It works great on tile floors as well.

I have never used a hardsurface protection film before. So with two rolls in my trailer, and working on a cabinet refinishing job with 2 day old granite and refinished floors, I put it to use on both. Awesome! I normally use paper, wont do that any more. The product performed great!!

Brusher

★★★★★
The Brushaper did everything it advertised it would do. It says it will wick away moisture to dry the bristles. I observed my brushes to be dry the next day. It advertises to maintain the brush shape. I observed the bristles to be held tightly together from the snug fit of the cover and the shape was perfect. It also advertises to protect fragile bristles and save money over time by doing so. I agree. The only thing that will possibly concern me down the road is the durability of the sides. Since the fit of the brush is snug, the ferrule can get caught on the material if you're not careful. Only time will tell how it holds up, but so far I am impressed. Thumbs up!

Brushaper 2-1/2"

★★★★★
Great product! And one that most painters have been searching for since the first time their paper cover disintegrated. I got tired of taping my paper covers back together, or putting poly on them to make them moisture proof. The brushaper does exactly what it says it does. It shapes the brush and keeps the bristles from getting bent or broken when not in use. The material seems to wick away moisture while the brush is in the brushaper, as well. I do hope that they come out with a 3" block brush model as well, as that is what my crews use most.

Presto 1.41 Super Blue Tape

★★☆☆☆
I was not happy with this particular product. The tape was very hard to remove from cured casing sides that we masked to cut in the waterbased wall color. A slow 45 degree pull away left blue fragments along the whole edge of the surface. Scoring the tape did not help either. After that trial I attempted to try it on another room with previously painted trim. Same results happened after cutting two coats of wall color and only slightly brushing the tape. I wish I could find a positive use for this product but even after temporarily taping a plastic shield on a wall, the product left more blue paper fragments. Two stars because the tape did not bleed any worse than the competition. Thanks for the opportunity to review.
- Roger Coulter

carpet film

★★★☆☆
The product is too sticky to the core of film and doesn't unroll in a nice even manner Especially towards the end of the roll it is too hard to pull off of the cote. It doeslay down nicely on carpet and pull off quickly. It is a niche pproduct that can fill a void for the painting contractor. Ifeel that theproduct from trimaco is a better product. Dispensing quicker and not such an aggressive tack to itself would make it a winner. Thanks for the sample.

2.5" Angle Sash

★★★★★
Excellent product, it worked exactly as described. It wicked moisture away nicely while in storage overnight and my bristles were in perfect shape the next day. I expect to get much more life out of my brushes as the Brushaper is such a nice and snug fit that it works even better than the paper sleeves, not to mention that it will last much longer than the original sleeve. The only addition I would like to see would be either a little label or even making the brush logo larger so that one could write the brush type on the outside of the sleeve. Maybe I'm just messier than most but after a couple uses the brush info on my handle is usually covered in paint and it would be good to know what kind of bristles are on the brush at a glance vs. having to pull the brush out. Other than that, I look forward to adding several more of these covers to my kit!

floor protection

★★★★★
This has to be the best new product I ever tried. The customer's response was very pleasing to me as they appreciated not having to worry about their brand new carpeting in their newly purchased home. This film even helped me to land the job, as they accepted my quote on the spot which more than paid for the rolls of film that I used, on hardwood as well as carpet as I repainted the house in new colors. Thank you for a great product!

attamark 3" brush

★★☆☆☆
at first glance it looks really nice. the lightweight handle, and softness of the bristles were nice features. it worked beautifully, cut a good line, and cleaned up nicely. 2 jobs into it though, I saw the nails coming out if the ferrule. I am guessing that the lightweight handle wood does not have enough density to hold the nails in. I want to like this brush. there seems to be a ton more bristles in it than my normal brushes, but the bugs need to be worked out.
- Mark

2.5" Brushaper

★★★★★
The Brushaper provides excellent bristle protection allowing the brush to be stored bristles down, bristles up or lying flat with equal effectiveness. Installation and removal are intuitive, quick and easy. During the trial period, two different brush shapes (2.5 inch Picasso oval and Purdy clearcut) were stored in the Brushaper between uses. The Brushaper maintained each brushes shape with equal effectiveness that was as good if not better than the brushes original cover. The Brushaper gets 5 stars for functionality.

2" Presto Blue Tape

★★☆☆☆
I initially had positive thoughts about the tape while dispensing it, however, that's where those thoughts ended. I liked the thickness and smoothness of the tape while dispensing, but my experience of applying it to a brass doorknob was frustrating. Where I would typically apply various types of tapes from Intertape efficiently, the Presto Tape did not stick well to the brass, which ultimately led to paint bleed on a large scale. Removal of the tape did not go any better either, as the tape refused to uncoil in one clean piece, and instead slivered into numerous small pieces. This lead to a frustrating and disappointing experience.
- Tristan Hamberg

Presto Floor Protection

★★★★☆
A very good product. The application process leaves a little bit to be desired, in that applying using your feet is a bit difficult. I found the most efficient way to apply the product was to do so while on your knees while pushing the roll forward with your hands. Once applied, the protection film remains durable and stable, while resistant to paint, water, and foot traffic. Removal was very simple and quick. The film removed away from the surface cleanly and in one whole piece. A much safer and more practical alternative to traditional drop cloths on hard-surface floors.
- Tristan Hamberg

Presto Carpet Protection Film

★★★★☆
Similar to the Hard-Surface Floor Protection, the Carpet Protection left a little to be desired in how it unrolled from the roll and initially applied to the carpet. Due to how sticky the film is, it creates a slow and tedious process of application on your hands and knees. Once applied, the product performs extraordinary. We left the film over brand new carpet for over 10 days, and during that time, it never once came loose or allowed for any tears or spills. Removal was a very easy task with how effortlessly the film removed and how it was able to pick up all loose dust and dirt from under it, while at the same time, not pulling any fibers loose from the carpet.
- Tristan Hamberg

'Snot Tape

★★★★★
A tape truly unlike any other. 'Snot Tape's gel barrier will stick to just about any surface imaginable, while also providing protection from paint bleed. No other tape on the market comes close to the adhesive and bleed prevention capabilities of 'Snot Tape. A priceless item that is practical to any and every residential painter.

Paint Precise

★★★★★
The Paint Precise program is paint specific and very user friendly. By using square footage, linear, and each type of measurements the estimator is able to quickly and accurately price any type of painting project. This program lets the estimator use historical data on production rates which takes “guessing” out of the equation. I am a user of Paint Precise, and would recommend it to the novice or seasoned estimator.

Triangle Trim Brush

★★★★☆
Being the first time using this triangular Zibra brush, I wasn't disappointed at all. It held a decent amount of paint due to it having 3 sides but took some getting used to using all those sides, a bit awkward at first but eventually got the hang of it. The lines were easy to manage. I don't think it made a difference time wise from a normal sash brush but it was fun to work with something different and it made al the corner work easier. I will say that I was not satisfied with the paint draw from the cut pot since I had to twirl it to prevent paint from dripping after the dip/tap/tap. Not sure when I'll use it again but I'll keep it someplace close.

Presto Film Floor Protection

★★★★★
Presto has a very good product here. This blue film was excellent over laminate flooring for a room wall repaint. No tripping over tarps the whole length of the job and nothing penetrated it for easy clean up. I shure hope this product becomes more available in my area. I am looking forward to using it as flooring protection while removing wallpaper. Left behind no residue and I think it's important to note that once it was all removed the used presto didn't take up too much space at all in the trash can.

Another great presto product to protect carpeting while painting. This film works very well in room repaints in front of the door area where the door swings into the room. Stay Put Drop

★★★★★
Came out of package fairly stiff. I smoothed it out, but was waiting for a peak to pop up that i would trip on. Stayed put! Used it on an exterior patio, aggregate surface. 15mph wind gusts and dragging a 24 foot little giant across it didnt move once. Stayed exactly where i laid it. Id say the best part of this product was the surface gripping for me. I dont know how they got the "stays put 300% more" metric. But it stayed put at least 296% more than normal flimsy drops. And the canvas portion on top eliminated slip hazards even qhen we got rained out. Awesome product!
- Michael @ Craine Painting LLC

Eliminator Drop

★★★☆☆
Really heavy. Great for exterior usage though. Suflrface seems to want to grip your shoes. Absolutely leak proof though which was awesome. Concernsbabout burning/breaking plants due to zero breathability and heaviness, will kill the grass if you let sit on a hot day, also will break hostas due to weight.
- Michael@ Craine Painting LLC

Stay Put Canvas

★★★★☆
When painting on hard surfaces, one of the most challenging things is to keep your drop clothes from sliding away from the wall. Trimaco solved this problem by attaching the material you put under area rugs to stop them from sliding to their drop clothes. The drop cloth stays put as advertised. The material seems to be made of high quality. My only questions would be in regards to normal wear and maintenance. I can only assume that the grip will lose its effectiveness over time through contamination. Is there maintenance to prevent this? Some contractors like to wash their drop clothes so will doing this damage the material? I gave the product 4 stars only because of the questions the added material presents. My immediate rating is 5 stars for how the product performs.

★★☆☆☆
Terrible coverage. Needed 3 applications to get uniformity. What has happened to SW paint ? Used to be great.
- Doug Pickeral

Stay Put Drop

★★★★☆
I found the Stay Put Drop to in fact stay put where I dropped it. The backing is the most secure of all other similar type drop cloths and while in it's current state I would give this product a five star rating, I have concerns about the longevity of the backing. I have the same type of pads for rugs at home and after some extended use and a washing, their ability to be "grippy" is greatly diminished. I look forward to further testing and will update my findings accordingly. One plus to the top layer material was that it provided a good amount of leak protection despite being made of canvas.

Paint Contracting and Estimating Book

★★★★★
Solid book all around. I thought Lynn did a great and thorough job of covering all aspects of being a paint contractor. He uses his own personal experiences to help others past the learning curve or help others fine tune their approach to the painting business. It's apparent that his values are exceptional and truly wants to help you be more successful with the amount of information provided in this book. Unfortunately, I can not review the estimating CD program since I don't have a CD player on my MacBook. If I decide to get an external CD drive then I will review it separately. Love the book though.

Stay Put drop

★★★★★
Excellent safe tarp for hardwood and engineered flooring. It's heavy weight and spill proof, we worked 4 gallons of mud on this tarp all day long and no spills penetrated through it. The backing of the tarp is similar to a bath mat and definitely stays put. Even though it's heavy weight and a thicker tarp it folded easily with two guys. Upon repeated uses in dusty environments the tarp remained to keep its grip. Rest assured this tarp is for the messy jobs that have nice Flores to protect. Very safe tarp that does in fact lay flat!

Trimaco EZ Floor guards

★★★☆☆
As a painting contractor I have found this shoe guard "machine" very innovative. I'm in and out of the front door of projects 10-20 times a day. This tool not only covers your shoe bottoms but broadcasts to the client that you truly care for the home they love. The operation of the machine is pretty straight forward and only take a minute to get the hang of applying your shoe covers. The sticky shrink wrap comes in a roll and is simple to load. The serrated blade that cuts the wrap must be popped up by hand lever so this tool does not save any bending over to wrap your shoes each time. Once you step on the unique cushion to wrap your shoe you pull until it wraps the top tip of your shoe. Once you have your covers on and it's cut you have to bend back down and use the hand lever to lower the serrated blade so no worker or client accidentally cuts themselves or walks on the blade. Upon getting the Machine I've used it on 6 recent projects. No matter what shoe or boot I wore I kept getting a sticky residue on the bottoms of my footwear after wearing several layers for about 4 hours each time. Although it's a great idea I really do hope they can improve upon the residue left behind on my shoes and the serrated blade function, making that procedure foot operated. My highest praise is the standard this product speaks to my client, it definitely showed some clients that the care of their home was a top priority of mine.

HardCoat

★★★★★
I have used HardCoat in many places where extra toughness and burnish resistance is a must. This product is excellent. Using HardCoat will extend your dry times in between coats. I'd rate this product as one of the most innovative advances in the coatings industry is a long time.

Ghastly! I asked for VOC free (or low VOC) paint and was sold this paint which I nearly died from, it is so loaded with noxious out-gassing chemicals- far worse than ordinary latex. How can they claim this paint is VOC free or even low? They don't care at all what they do to people, just as long as they get their money. This paint should be taken off thee market. I wouldn't have given it even one star but the site requires picking stars.

We found this tool to be an added value for the home owner. After a job, gift it to the customer. Less work them. For a contractor, I'm not to sure if i would buy them for company. ★★★★★
We have used this product on two separate occasions and have been very pleased with the results. The product does perform up to its specs. Expect a quick dry and a very hard final surface. We have used it on an exterior door trim and exterior door in one job and again on a large double exterior front door as well. I do recommend this product.

Tape Tool

★★★★☆
I would like to thank Tape Tool for letting me try and review this product. I find the tool to be useful as a holder for your tape. The tape fits in snug and securely and the wheel turned freely without any interferences. I couldn't get the tape to rip as easily as in the commercial but I'm sure it just requires repetition. I personally don't use tape very often, but I do use it for masking film and paper for protecting surfaces. I like to angle my tear for corners so I may have some practicing to do. If for some reason I don't find this tool useful for tape dispensing, I still think it's great to have as a holder instead of having to put tape around your wrist or in your mouth. There is definitely a spot for this tool in my trailer.

Roller Squeegee

★★★★☆
I thought this was a very creative invention. It looks really neat and it seems to be made very well. It was a little awkward to use at first but that is the case with a lot of new tools, you just need to become familiar with it. It worked as advertised but you will need to put pressure against the roller for short nap rollers, such as 1/4" & 3/8", to get all of the paint out. I don't believe I will switch my cleaning practices for 9" roller covers but this tool can be very useful for 14' & 18" roller covers. I do wish the space used for passing through the roller handle was a little bigger to account for wooster 18" frames, but with that said I was able to make it barely fit near the very end. Not sure if it will work that way for all 18" frame brands. I'm still trying to figure out what the threaded handle is for.

Excellent product that dries fast for quick return to service. Sprays easily and levels out decently. Tintable in almost any color which is a plus.
- Roger Coulter

Roller keeper

★★★★☆
This product is nice for a DIY painter. Container stays sealed and the nap stays wet. It can be a bit messy inserting a wet cover in the tube. I wouldn't reccomend storing anything above a 3/4" nap roller due to the size of the tube. Overall it's decent for the weekend warriors.
- Roger Coulter

Roller Squeegee

★★★☆☆
The tool is well made but I have to say a 5 in 1 works as fast and is easier to clean quickly than the roller squeegee. If it fit through my Wooster 18" frame I might see myself using this product often but it does not. Great Idea, just not worth the extra space needed for minimal 9" roller use.
- Roger Coulter

Roller Keeper

★★★★☆
Great tool to have on the job site, espaesially when returning the next day to apply the second coat, I think it would be cheaper for the everyday painter to just use plastic.

Great tool, but would have been nice to have it work with an 18" roller cage. Defiantly a keeper for the 9" roller

I gave the TapeTool to one of my painters to try out and he absolutely loved it. The TapeTool free's up a hand while working on ladders and allows him to be more effiecient thus allowing him to make more money.

Marquee Ext. Satin

★★★★☆
Here is my NO BS review. Im a painting contractor by trade now for 30 years. I use all lines of paint such as SW and BM and the other home store brands. I decided to finally work on my own home and give this exterior product a try for its color retention that I couldn't get from the the "other" paints. My trim is a brown and body is a creaming white. So here is what I found using Marquee. The brown did cover 1 coat over the old purple brown( color became that way due to sun over the years). The creamish white was painted over a very light beige and ALMOST covered in 1 coat. Soo close but a second was required. Paint is thick and make sure you you QUALITY brushes and rollers! My trim and body is a raised rough trim so I had no problem with the finish BUT I could see a home owner with no painting experience having trouble getting a uniform appearance since this product is thick and dries very fast. I guess you could put a extender to the paint to give it more open time. This product claims to be rain safe after 1 hour so it gets up and dries! Also I wish this product came in eggshell or flat. The Satin I used is more like a Semi-Gloss or Gloss. It does look very good though almost like the area I painted were dipped in glass.Would I use this product again?? Well let's see how my brown color holds up to the Texas Sun.

★★★☆☆
Worked nicely on a 3/4 nap 9" roller. Unfortunately i use 18"s most of the time so this product would rarely be used
- Michael Craine@ Craine Painting LLC

Roller Keeper

★★★★☆
It kept the roller useable for about 2 weeks after i forgot about it. I was pleasantly suprised! Rolling in plastic still my go to but it may have uses for a handyman or apartment painter who only use the same colors repeatedly.
- Michael Craine @ Craine Painting LLC

Tape Tool

★★★★★
This product is such a time saver for me. Usually i slip a roll of tape over my wrist then have to lean off a ladder to tear it. Or set the roll down and forget where i left it half the time. This product made it extremely easy to tape off a stripe half way up a building, felt safer using it and it really saved me alot of time. Love it
- Michael Craine @ Craine Painting LLC

Trimaco Floor Guards

★★★☆☆
Bulkier than a pair of slip on booties. Definitely shows the customer you care about their home. Upside if you walk out when its raining the film protects against moisture where a fabric bootie will not. Just a bit too large if an apparatus to add to the daily tool box versus a pair of booties that can slip in your pocket in my opinion.
- Michael Craine @ Craine Painting LLC

Worked nicely on exterior using in a hand masker. Interior wise uaing to cover baseboards, it tore in quite a few places upon removal.

Stay Put Drops

★★★★★
One of the best new paint products that I've ever used! It's such a practical and safe concept that I can't believe that there hadn't been any comparable products previously in the market. The drop cloth is ideal for covering any and all types of flooring and surfaces (Wood, tile, even carpet). I love the fact that won't slide or slip on slick floor surfaces, which makes it easy to setup extension ladders over, and not have to worry about the feet sliding. They just stay put!

Paint Precise Estimating

★★★★★
A very informative and useful book & cd platform. The book especially has very practical information for contractors of all types and sizes, even though it comes from experiences from primarily large commercial companies. The book makes it evident that Lynn is very knowledgable and experienced in his field. I'd like to offer my thanks and gratitude to him for providing free copies to all of us.
- Tristan Hamberg

Roller Squeegee

★★☆☆☆
A very small niche product that doesn't perform much better than a 5-in-1 tool. I found myself having to use it several times on the same roller in order to completely get all of the paint out from it. Combined with the facts that it doesn't work with all types of roller frames, and that it tends to get messy, I would be very hard to justify purchasing one.
- Tristan Hamberg

Roller Keeper

★★☆☆☆
The product didn't provide much value to me, as I always just use scrap plastic film to wrap up the roller if I'm going to be using it again within a couple of days. Anything longer than that, and I just toss the cover, as I only pay $2 for my 9" covers, and cannot ever justify cleaning them or buying a product only capable of storing a 9" cover. The product was a little too tight for heavier-nap rollers also. I recognize that there is a bigger need for this product in the DIY market, however I believe that "The Paint Brush Cover" company already has a similar product in stores.

Behr Marquee Exterior Flat

★★☆☆☆
Commerial customer picked Behr paint due to owning a HD card and all inteior paint used was Behr. I have never had an issue with Behr interior so I figured their exterior should be good. Purchased Marquee Exterior Flat Pure white to paint wood work and siding. It has taken 3 coats and still looks patchy. Instead of being in and out on this job I am behind almost a week with recoats and touch ups. Not a happy camper. The two stars are because this is not the worst paint I have encountered. But for the price and 'top of the line' I will not use again. Save your money if you have to buy Behr and get their low to mid grade and save the extra money.
- Vick

Behr Marquee

★☆☆☆☆
Sorry, but this is not a one coat interior paint. It's a nice paint, but there is no way it lives up to the hype. Two coats required whether I was painting a light color over dark color or light color over light color.
- Doug

Behr Marquee Eggshell Interior

★☆☆☆☆
Made the mistake of not picking a marquee color the first time and the room required four coats. When discussing this with the paint department at Home Depot they failed to mention this was required, but compensated me anyway. Next room we were sure to choose a Marquee color and it still required two coats of paint. Very disappointed and would not choose Behr Marquee paint again. With the limited colors, the high cost and fact that you need a minimum of two coats anyway, it's simply not worth it.

Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint

- Peter

emerald interion satin

★☆☆☆☆
list price was $70 per gallon. we did get a discount. i cut around all doors and woodwork first, then rolled paint on rest of room. where I cut with the brush was still highly visible. went over with a brush again. same result. called sherwin williams and they said it was called "picture framing" and had something to do with the roller texture vs the brush. was told to go over brushed areas and then follow with a dry roller. Did as instructed and the shadow still showed though. That's three times the windows and doors were cut in with the same result. Been paining for over 40 years. Never had this happen with any other brand of paint. Will never buy Sherwin Williams paint again and tell anyone who will listen not to either. I also am friends with three home builders who use private painting contractors. I will also advise them to not have their painters to use Sherwin Williams paint as the formula must have been altered and it is terrible.

Emerald

★★★★☆
Love It!/Hate it! The consistency of this paint varies greatly due to conditions that can't be predicted. Temperature and humidity can make or break an Emerald job due to the very swift dry times. I have used the same color on multiple projects with very different results. In general I love how it sprays woodwork but wouldn't use on large surface areas in direct sunlight, high heat or very low humidity.

I give the paint either 4 or 5 stars. I painted interior walls that had not been painted since the Owner first bought the home. Beautiful Home, expense Home, Cream of the Crop Area, now I am going with a Cream of the Crop paint, paint held its own, went over a little darker color and did fine, one coat, was a little loose on the roller, yet covered great, better than a 30.00 a gallon paint, here is where is the rub, is it worth 50.00-70.00 dollars a can, not sure if color change was more can the paint still be a one coat paint, bottom line , Owner seems to be very pleased, this is how I measure everything. what is there?

45 yrs painting love new ideas bought 25 of these for my set which I hang in my vehicle for daily use they are a great concept but NEVER let your brush lay on its side or stand it up in a container or similar with cover on it the end of your brush will be destroyed and it happens in minutes I wish they would work with brush companies to make them for specific sizes not one size fits all also they always pop open and fall off and I mean always most contractor size brushes are too thick I ended up wrapping masking tape around them what a real pain

★★★★☆
This is a product that has been tried a few times. Not sure the contractor usage is the market. This is certainly something the DIY painter should look at. Maybe the room is not done this weekend and will be next weekend. It certainly keeps the roller wet as advertised but for the pro they will just grab plastic and use that roller again tomorrow.

I bought three of these for my crews. Two of the crews use them pretty religiously and the third crew has it firmly buried in their truck. It is a bulky system but it does work.

I've owned 6 homes in my 50 years and painted my share of walls. This paint is without a doubt worth the money. Painted tan over blue, took one gallon for the walls of a 16x14 bedroom and looks great. A+ product

★★★★★
DAP Alex Plus Brilliant White Caulking is the only product we use on all our projects for all our trim work and caulking needs. We even have our trim paints custom tinted to match. A definite time saver compared to other caulking on the market today.

Trimaco X Paper

★★★★★
Builders paper on steroids! I really am pleased with this product for covering wood and tile floors. You would really have to be dragging heavy objects to tear through this protection. I didn't think there was much one could improve on when it comes to rosin or builders paper but trimaco has a winner here for those who want added security when covering surfaces. X Paper is my go to now. Love it.
- RWC Interiors

Steady Door

★★★★★
This product is designed way better than any others on the market (advanced i.e.) my biggest takeaway from using these is the doors really do not move once screwed in. No door damage unlike other. Rands that you have to pound in with a hammer. And it's also very important to note that the spacing of the steady door system allows for easy access to the connected door end corners while spraying. I've found that the other makers versions spacing are set too close together allowing blowback overspray to hit the door connected next to it. These are awesome and easy to store in your kit.

White Synthetic Shellac Primer

★★★★☆
Do not use without extremely generous and vigorous ventilation and/or a respirator. I put a single coat on a 14x14' kitchen ceiling with open windows and cross ventilation: had a hard time finishing because I was so impaired and still have a slamming headache here 6 hours later. Got to this page looking for medical advice on synthetic shellac poisoning.

Behr Marquee

★☆☆☆☆
25 years of painting experience in doing apartment turnovers. First time used Behr Marquee for white over Brown casings and doors. Horrible paint to work with. Dries too fast, drags, and has adhesion issues. I will never use the product again. We even tried Floetrol with it. if it isn't broken do not fix it. Our number one rule. I should have never left Sherwin-williams to try something new.

We have had the opportunity to use this product on a couple jobs. They are sturdy and do everything as advertised. The teeth do hold doors tight. Nice product and way better then wooden sticks and everything else people try and use to keep doors upright and steady when spraying.

Emerald Satin

★☆☆☆☆
I applied satin over semi gloss. One coat of Emerald Satin does nothing. It takes two or three coat to cover. Splashes of Emerald Satin that dried on doors and trim could not be removed with household cleaners. Cleanup was impossible. I threw out paint tools because Emerald Satin dried and would not come off tools. This must be the paint Sherwin Williams uses on airplanes because it dries rock -solid hard and is impossible to remove.

★★★★★
I've used everything from stir sticks to 2x4's to stand our doors up that we need to spray. Stir sticks split and I've actually had a few doors come crashing down and 2x4's are bulky to carry to the job. I gave Steady Door a try because they looked like a solid product that would make my life much easier when having to spray doors. Steady Door made it so much easier to get the doors set up that I was able to do it without having anyone to help hold the doors in place. Plus, you only need one screw to secure them and the teeth bite into the door creating a secure hold. That is the best part! No more worrying about the wind knocking your freshly sprayed doors over or having to have 2 people to get them set up and ready. And, they don't take up any more room than a stir stick! Great product and I would highly recommend them to any painter who sprays their doors in an accordion fashion.

I just recently tried out a set of these poles as my other sets were in use on another job and they are fantastic!! Creating a barrier has never been so easy and I will definitely be getting another few sets for my company! The poles and mechanisms are super sturdy and simple to use as well. They hold tight to the floor and ceiling with ease and adjustment is simple and quick. One man can put up complete containment in a very short amount of time; in my case it was less than two minutes and that included cutting the platic and opening it up! I was very impressed and can't wait to use them again.

Emerald urethane Trim Enamel

★★★★★
My take on the new Emerald Urethane trim Enamel paint. I've used it twice now on cabinets, but, only in light colors. Comparing it to Pro classic; I can tell it's more durable, does not sag as readily, and it has a nice finishing coat like an oil based product. The urethane makes it suitable for exterior as well. (Basically it's pro industrial WB alkyd urethane.) I strongly believe it's way overpriced though, and the dry time is a little long than the pro classic, which makes it hard for a quick turn-around. Which is why I docked it a star. All-in-all it's a great paint, but I'm definitely not ready to make the switch from PC. (Will consider when I can get it for much cheaper).

Over the course of a month I had two residential repaints going simultaneously. Pulled off of one so the floors could be refinished. I would highly recommend giving these clips a try.

I used to connect one end of a pot hook to the handle of an 18" wooster bucket to suspend the paint roller above the paint. The Vip Clip takes the worry away from having the roller fall in the paint. Very secure, very durable. The perfect solution for overnight paint setup storage.

VIP Clip

★★★★★
I tried out the VIP Clip on a Wooster Wide Boy frame and a Purdy bucket (without lid) to see if it would be a viable fix to the problem we always run into; where do you keep your wet roller overnight? It worked amazingly well with and without the Purdy bucket liners in place. It kept a solid grip without any fear of the roller falling into the bucket of paint. And this tool is light and indestructible! You can carry this tool in a pocket all day long and not know it's there. All of my employees were happy when I showed them this neat little tool, as well. No more figuring out which roller goes to which bucket anymore! They liked that it was bright orange in color so that they could toss it in their grip bags and find it easily when it was needed. And I don't have to worry about replacing broken VIP Clips, either. I'm 250 lbs. and I stomped on this tool and it didn't even warp it! Very impressed with the quality. Overall, this tool is a hit for anyone who uses a Wooster Wide Boy roller frame

Behr Marquee

★★★★★
Fabulous paint... if you know how to paint. This is not for weekend warriors. If you notice, many of these reviews discuss issues with peeling, streaks, and wall adhesion. This is common for painters who over "work" the paint. Marquee has been a great product for me. However, it requires proficient painting skills: one brush/roll to apply and one brush/roll to smooth... then move on. Don't over apply and do NOT over work. If you are an inexperienced painter, then you should be buying cheaper paint.

Snot Tape for Delicate surfaces

★☆☆☆☆
I would give it ZERO stars if possible. This would not stay stuck to the walls for more than 60 seconds, I had high hopes for using this on a fresh paint (4 weeks old), but my hopes were quickly dashed as it does not stick to be able to paint. I liked the idea, of the 2 sticky surfaces to block paint, but if they don't stick in the first place, it makes no difference. I'll stick with the tried and true Blue painters tape. wemead@hotmail.com

I have a lot of paint experience and can tell you that this paint does NOT work well on a flat exterior door. I have tried multiple times in several conditions (cooler, indoor, etc) to get this paint on without streaking - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. I have rolled with foam roller as suggested, all in same direction, and still you can see your strokes. I will never buy it again.

Painting my basement walls using emerald paint. Going on the fourth coat. The paint has no substance to it very watered down. Spending a lot of extra money just to get a decent look. I will never use this paint again. Not worth the extra cost and all the extra cutting in and repainting.

SW Emerald

★★★★★
I honestly cannot understand the negative comments. I used Emerald in all finishes for my 1950’s home - covered dark brown paint, disguised rough surfaces, no odor at all, dried quickly. I painted the entire interior of my home on my days off, my husband says it looks great. SW Williams Customer service was excellent. It was so easy - I am looking forward to the next paint project I can come up with to improve my old house and will definitely use the SW Emerald paint for my next project!!

Behr Marquee

★★☆☆☆
I always use Behr Paint and decided to try the Marquee. It is AWFUL!!! It is sticky, does not cover in one coat as described, don’t make the of having to touch something up after it begins to dry or it will peel off the wall. I will never buy this again. Now I have to put on a second coat so I will be buying. The ultra premium Behr that I always use.

Emerald urethane

★★★★☆
First time using it. Was looking for a better product for cabinets. I've used several SW products before and haven't found the perfect one yet. I got a real nice price on the emerald ureathane, so I figured I would give it a shot. Repainted some white cabinets with it. Sanded all the cabinets down real nice. Used a quarter inch white dove roller cover. Finish product came out real nice. I used the semi gloss which didn't have much sheen at all, but had a nice finish to it. Would recommend.

First thought was it Looks gimmicky . Tested it out however. I was pleasantly surprised at its performance. As a brush extender, it handles more intuitively than regular floppy brush extenders. I found that he design allowed me to be more precise in my cutting in than the old style ones. As for the roller attachments, I found that it reduces muscle strain versus a regular roller. Very pleased with the product.

Revolver system

★★★☆☆
The Revolver system was something that when I saw it I just had to see first hand how it worked and why it was designed, developed, and put into the marketplace. My first thought was at the push of a trigger the brush, roller, or micro roller adaptions would just rotate direction. That wasn’t the case. So I set out to use it for a whole day on craftsman style casing and windows using the main brush holder and micro roller head adapter. It held the bush well and my micro roller stayed on the frame securely throughout the day. Was it comfortable? Not really at first but as the day progressed and I was determined to give it a fair review so I carried on. Each time I needed it to revolve I kept thinking to myself that it would be great if it actually revolved by simply pushing the trigger. But it doesn’t do that, the trigger is a locking mechanism and you must manually pull the head off by disengaging the lock mechanism (pull the trigger) and rotate the adapter to your desired angle. If it’s the bush your rotating you have to unscrew the gray knob that holds it into place. The time it takes to do so in a production based environment was frustrating to me personally. The product is marketed for better ergonomics and less muscle strain yet to achieve that one would constantly have to stop and adjust direction manually. Having painted by hand and standard micro roller frame for years I couldn’t get use to this manual adjusting so that the trigger grip was in a comfortable position as I worked away. Day two was no better for me. I even had a game plan of doing all vertical trim work first then working on the horizontals. A total of 12 window casings, returns, and sides were double coated using the revolver system. I personally could not get comfortable using the revolver system and completing those specific tasks in a timely manner. I do however feel the product is very well built and the packaging it comes in is excellent. The bags the 9” roller frame and micro frame adapters double as a wet cover storage bag. But there really only great for one use before they get soiled with paint residuals. And my one afterthought may be this, for cutting in high cuts via extension pole versus a tall ladder may be the only area where I would in fact put the Revolver to use with a brush. It does hold well on Wooster quick connect poles without the use of an adapter. All in all it looks super cool, is well built, but uncomfortable and stalls painting progress. Thank you for the trial of this product.

Emerald woodwork and door paint

★☆☆☆☆
If I could give this paint a "minus one star" I would. I have been in the business for over 45 years. I purchased 4 gallons of this paint at a grand opening of a SW store. It was highly recommended by the dealer. It dries too quickly, can't have a wet edge. POOR coverage. It was a streaky, blotchy mess. I called the helpline and the lady told me to "thin it with water". It's very expensive, but I ended up using it in my garage so it would not go to waste. I went to another paint store and purchased Benjamin Moore Advance in Satin. Excellent leveling, extended open time - it was the difference between night and day. Benjamin Moore offers a very high quality product - plus it was less per gallon!

Revolver

★★★☆☆
I really thought the concept was great and that it would very beneficial to have a tool that had all the attachments you needed to complete a task. As I trialed it out, it just felt awkward to use. It was comfortable, but my control of the brush from dip to release was too different for me to overcome. I much prefer having just the brush in my hand. Using it with the roller frame attachments, I felt the same way. I prefer a straight handle opposed to the angle with the revolver. I don't find myself cross rolling enough to warrant its use. I do, however, see great value in this for hard to reach areas where you need to attach it to an extension pole. It seems to be the best one on the market for this, in my opinion. It's still a very intriguing product to me. Maybe I will find more uses for it as time goes by.

★★★★☆
A very unique and effective concept that I think could ultimately succeed in the DIY market as an all-in-one roller system. For professionals, I feel as if it's limited to being a niche product that is only put to use a couple times a month for hard to reach places. I thought that the design was very well done, and the main holder was extremely comfortable and ergonomic at first use. However the problem that I encountered and what I think the majority of other professionals will also encounter is the unnatural feel of using the holder to brush or roll. I felt like I didn't have the same control and feel that I normally would have from using my brush or roller directly from the handle. This would be a major obstacle to overcome for professionals to use this product as a regular staple in their tool bag. I really appreciated the lightweight design and the customization options that were available however, and found it comforting that each interchangeable part is tightly snug and tight. This makes it very easy to access what would normally be hard to reach places. Thank you very much for allowing me to test this product. I hope you find my feedback useful.

★★★★★
These are easily some of the best rollers that I've ever had the privilege of using. The interchangeable system with the Revolver adds massive value, and even individually each roller stands alone for being of the highest quality on the market. I've been an avid user of Wooster Sherlocks over my near 10 years of working in the painting industry, and right away after using these Zipper Rollers, I was blown away with how superior they compared to the Woosters. The Zippers roll so smooth and fast, don't squeak, and are very easy to clean out. A phenomenal line of products!

LEIKoSI Ladde head protection

★★★★★
To Whom it may Concern, My name is Ivan Gonzalez, I work for a company called East Coast Networks located in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. We have recently given the distribution rights to a German product that has been making real headways in the safety department in all of the EU. The product is called “LEIKoSI” Ladder head protection. It took four years to register the patent, but now the so-called Ladder head protection has been optimized and tested by the expert DGUV. The device not only protects the ladder against slipping but can also easily pushed further- for example, in the case of gutter cleaning. There is no second man to secure the ladder, which is a financial advantage. Whether roof gutters, flat roofs, window sills or balcony railing- the device can provide more safety everywhere. Our question is the following: Who would be the correct person to speak to about a possible presentation, or the person who I can reach to send more literature regarding the product? Thank you very much and I would appreciate you forwarding this email to the correct person. Thank you for your time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVx70KrVf0c Kind Regards, Ivan Gonzalez East Coast Networks Inc. 954-347-6429

Behr Marquee - from a Pro

★★★★★
Behr Marquee is very good paint. Is it the absolute best paint made? Doubtful. But it's high-quality paint . It requires professional prep and application. The problems I'm reading have to do with incorrect (or non-existent) prep, incorrect application, and wild expectations. It's paint not magic. This is supposed to be a site for the pro painting industry - would be nice if someone would police the boards against clueless noobs/ DIYers posting negative reviews when they don't know what they're talking about. Don't get me wrong - I'm no fan of Home Depot. But Marquee is a professional product.

Zero stars. I went for the "best" most expensive paint because of the 40% off, and regret every minute of that decision. It looks great with 4 coats... Unfortunately, I didn't want to do 4 coats. The color is perfect. Just finished the second coat on new professionally installed wainscot. I am exhausted. I will have to buy a semi gloss or high gloss to get any shine at all. Trust me, I should have read the reviews.

Overall, I am disappointed with this product.I did not get the spec sheet when buying it. I relied on the salesperson's recommendation for Snap Dry. He did not tell or didn't know that this paint would not stick to slick surfaces like fiberglass doors and plastic window trim on exterior doors. After 3 coats of Snap Dry on both sides of the door, I have to remove the paint down to the bare fiberglass and prime the dolor and window trim. Not a happy camper. This may be a product that needs a primer added at the factory if that is possible.

I'm beyond frustrated. What an awfull paint. I've been trying to paint my wooden kitchen cabinets for a month now. Sanding with increasing grits last one 600 for a smooth finish. Vacuuming, cleaning with alcohol then with tack cloths. Painting with a professional sprayer and all I get is a paint that doesn't flow, dries too quick and it bubbles I tried an extender, and adding water and more bubbles. I tried using an expensive brush and the cashmere roller. What a mess. I've repeated this now for days and weeks on end. Tried different temperatures, tried on bare wood and on painted surface nothing is helping. The results are all the same. I've spoken to painters I've taken their advice but the results are still the same. And I'm on Gallon nr 4 so any advice? I think I spent $300 and I've got nothing. I read a review on Benjamin Moore advance paint that had the same issues so I'm not buying that one. I'm at a loss now.

Emerald Semi-Gloss trim paint

★★★☆☆
I am a former professional painter and son of a professional painter, so I've used every product known to man. The key to a good paint job is good prep work, good paint, and knowing how to apply the product to get a smooth even finish. I really like the Sherwin Williams products compared to other high quality paints. I am repainting most of my home using SW Cashmere low luster on the walls. The coverage and finish is awesome! I decided to step up and try the Emerald Semi-Gloss for my doors and trim. The Emerald is a pleasure to brush because the paint is not very thick. I started by painting two new steel (pre-primed) entry doors. The coverage was good but they will need a second coat, though I could probably get away with one. Emerald goes on great when painting over doors or trim that has been previously painted! I can tell that it has a harder finish which should make it pretty durable an washable. So far I like the paint but I'm not sure it is quite worth the $77.00 list price. I've seen reviews where people have said they paid $90.00 per gallon. Look for the 30% coupon! I can justify using this for doors and trim because a gallon of paint goes a long way but I will stick with Cashmere for my walls.

★☆☆☆☆
I thought I had a deal when I took advantage if the April paint sale. Emerald, at 40% off is terrible. The end result was satisfactory, however, I spent $170 on 4 gallons whereas I would spend a max of $90 on Behr and $120 on Benjamin Moore. It took 3 coats to cover a light gray wall, the paint drips, dries very quick, and feels like painting with water. Waste of time and money. Granted, it is low VOC but that is about it. Never again.

★☆☆☆☆
Wow- really wish I had visited this site before purchasing! I bought this paint at the urging of SW staff that this is a "paint and primer in one" and would only require one coat. He was wrong, which would be kinda okay if it only took two coats but it took three coats (total about 12 hours) of painting to get a nice, even color. Don't waste your time, get Behr instead- a million times easier to apply, cheaper and can be done in one coat!

I'M READY TO CRY!!! Never have I been so upset about a product that is so TERRIBLE. Never have I written a review about a product that didn't meet my personal expectations...until today. I'm writing this to help spare others from dealing with what I am dealing with right now. While this paint did cover a dark color paint in one coat, it also completely ruined the texture of my walls with roller track marks everywhere because of its thick, sticky, rapid coagulating, and tacky texture! What was to be a quick, inexpensive one-day paint project has turned into a week-long, torturous, messy and expensive project because the walls now have to be sanded and repainted. If I had known what a terrible paint this was, I would have taken the time to paint the walls twice with a better, less expensive paint! I'm so sad and overwhelmed with the devastating results of having used Behr Marquee. PS If I could have given this product a 0 star rating, I would have!!!

Worst paint ever

★☆☆☆☆
I've been a professional painter for 25 years and sw paint is consistently the worst I've ever used but emerald is a whole new level of horrible. When rolling if you even touch what you've just put on it pulls it off the wall. Immediately drags when cutting with a brush, and white doesn't even cover over white?!! Never again. Wish I could attach pics here if what happens when using it.

Garbage! Premium Plus and Marquee

★☆☆☆☆
Did Behr change their formulas? The Premium Plus has been my go-to for years but this last project of covering antique white with Swiss Coffee has been a 2-3 coat hell. Never in my years of using Behr has multiple coats been an issue. When I moved to another room to paint I decided to give Marquee a shot (same colors) and still find myself painting 2 coats! I'll finish these cans, but once they're empty, Behr has lost me as a customer.

This turned out to be a very poor and expensive paint. Did not live up to it's claim. Will never purchase marquee paint again. Also the new cover with the pour spout is terrible. I perfer the orginal behr paint.

Emerald Semi-Gloss

★☆☆☆☆
Wow, I paid $56 for this paint and it was the worst trim paint I have ever used. rolled it on the trim and 10 seconds later I Lay it off with a new Purdy brush. It starts to dry almost instantly gets way too tacky to lay off with a brush after 10 seconds.

Garbage

★☆☆☆☆
I've been painting for a very long time. Took a chance on the Behr Marquee from Home Depot. Disaster at best. 1. It won't cover with one coat-but I didn't expect it to. 2. It goes on smooth, clean, prepped walls like clay or putty. 3. 2 coats later roller marks everywhere, still won't cover. Not an inexpensive experiment. Never again.

Behr Marquee Interior Paint

★☆☆☆☆
Do not waste your money. Each can is $50 and had I known before I initially purchased it that Home Depot states it is NOT returnable on the color label they print off, I NEVER would have bought it. It is the worst paint I've ever used. I had to do my walls 3 times as it peels and is so thick you might as well squirt gorilla glue on your walls. I taped off my stained/poly trim and when I peeled the tape off, it pulled the fresh paint on the wall with it as well. I'm very disappointed. Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore for me from now on.

Terrible

★☆☆☆☆
Bought Marquee "Guaranteed One Coat" in 5 gallon buckets. Went over everything twice and this paint does not level well. Multiple areas where the roller edges left shadows. We have painted a lot over the years using other brands and never experienced such terrible paint.

Behr Marquee Interior Satin Enamel

★★☆☆☆
We have used this paint for our living room and hallway. When painting the trim with Ultra Pure White, the paint dragged and dripped at the same time. It dried way too fast and didn’t allow for smoothing where you just painted ten seconds before. Instead, it peels off the paint. Using it is like spreading white glue. It does not cover in one coat. With primer, it takes two or three coats. We always used BM and are going back to it. We wouldn’t use this paint again if they gave it to us for free. Might I add, it’s an expensive paint and a waste of your effort.

Behr Marquee interior paint

★☆☆☆☆
I’ve used Behr paints for years but am thoroughly disappointed in it right now. Was covering a light beige paint with white. The first coat dried extremely blotchy and you could still see the light beige through it. Had to put on at least 2 coats and in some instances 3 coats. Wouldn’t recommend this paint anymore!

Behr Marquee

★☆☆☆☆
Terrible paint. No adhesion to the wall. Goes on thick as can be. So thick it has very little coverage, get 2-3x how much you think you need. Starts firming up immediately, and leaves ghosting of roller that won't roll out with subsequent passes. So thick it was pulling the fibers off the roller.

Worst paint experience

★☆☆☆☆
It took double the amount to cover a small living room, dining room hall and tiny front entry of my 830 sq foot condo. The eggshell finish is matte and rough to the touch so am concerned with cleaning challenges. It dries very rapidly so if you need to go back in a couple of minutes to correct something it will not be pliable to do so.Coverage was inconsistant and many, many touch-ups were needed. Their Duration paint is cheaper and 100 percent better.

Stinks to high Heaven

Our painter sprayed this week and our entire house smells so strong we can hardly stand to be in the house. Coverage seems poor as well, we’ve noticed a lot of uneven sheen issues.

Best money I have spent on a tool in years! Nothing better than being able to stand flat-footed on a ladder!I need another one!

Horrible

★☆☆☆☆
Paint was the worst to work with. DID NOT COVER IN 1 coat as it was guaranteed to do. It was super thick and when I tried a second coat I got peeling. Wish the sales person would of told and and I wouldn’t have wasted my money.

Marque

★☆☆☆☆
Worst paint ever!!! Area's I trimmed it don't match rolled areas. When removing tape the paint came with it. Never have I ever been so outraged at the performance of paint!!!

Horrible paint. Hard to apply. Patchy even after two coats. Home Depot knows it’s bad but works hard to get rid of inventory. Stay away.

Not good

★☆☆☆☆
I am disappointed in the coating defects for this paint when blending in with my application from less than a minute ago. Brush stroke propensity is very high as well. I'm not sure why the Sherwin Williams rmpl recommended this stuff!

Behr= TRASH

★☆☆☆☆
Would not even give it one star. I bought 1 gal. Marquee white, and 1gal Marquee aqua, at $52 a gallon, for 2 different rooms that were painted light tan. Should of needed only 1 coat.Their claim of 1 coat is a total lie. Overpriced, ineffective and it is a 2-3 coat paint. Should have bought sherwin-williams

Crummy coverage

I gave 2 chances for thus paint. Dining room bathroom. Requires 2, ow 3rd coat to cover pale twal5

SnapDry bad buy

★☆☆☆☆
Extremely difficult to work with - The quick dry time not worth it- I’ve re-sanded/Re-prepped twice and third go round resulted in -GULP- yet another blotchy, uneven, unacceptable mess . I love SW paints but this one is a bust . I just returned from SW with a replacement ‘emerald’ and stopped at home improvement store for an orbital sander to resand AGAIN.

Very disappointed

Used Marquee exterior to paint a light peach over a medium taupe. Needed primer plus two coats. Not even close to what’s advertised.

The best!

★★★★★
I’ve been using marque paint for over 10 years. I’d buy it in a heart beat. It does dry fast. And it is thick but it’s the best paint I’ve ever used. Painted my barn, house, metal fence, wood railings….love this paint!!
