Palm Pro

★★★★☆
As professional painters, we have certain brushes for certain tasks. I believe the Zibra Palm Pro is a nice addition for the tight spaces or small projects. It held a little more paint than I anticipated, which was nice, but as a professional, time is money and it is just does not have an everyday use for me. I thought it was constructed rather well and made a nice clean paint line. I would like to see an improvement on the sleeve. The brush can slide out of the protector if it is not secure inside of a toolbox, which will lead to filament damage. Thank you, Zibra & Blogging Painters for sending me a test sample. Hope this review helps.

Zebra palm & wedge

Zibra Palm pro

★★★★☆
The Zibra Palm pro brush is very unique for certain applications. This is the first brush I've used that actually has a diagram on the package of how to hold this very different brush. I feel the engineering design is ergonomically correct. It's comfortable, but it's short. I used it in several different areas where a tight straight line was needed for a professional result. A fully loaded Palm pro brush can go a long distance cutting a straight line with a experienced hand. It holds a lot of paint! Cutting in painted baseboards and casing sides is where I found this brush to hold an edge over others. The downside to the Palm pro brush is after several cleanings the filament tips began to curl slightly with typical latex acrylic paint use. It lost crisp cutting performance after about the third cleaning. Spinning this uniquely designed brush out is challenging but I found it will fit onto a roller spinner for faster back to service use. I spun this test brush out gently in order to not blow it out. I believe cleaning a brush out should always be included in testing a brush for professional longevity, in this case I found that I would have to replace this brush often. Even with that downside this is the best brush I've tested for blogging painters to date! I was surprised because I've always considered the brand a DIY brush maker. In this case it's a new tool that holds it worth in how my jobs finished jobs look. If the filaments didn't curl it would have received 5/5 stars. I will be keeping these on hand.

Zibra 2" chisel wedge brush

★★☆☆☆
I really gave this brush my best shot at cutting in walls for residential repaints. Although it holds a great deal of paint fully loaded, the actual line it cuts leaves a heavy edge in the corner your cutting. For some that may be great, but if you need to make a second pass with that heavy bead of paint on the edge it resulted in overlap onto casing and ceiling for myself. Tried some thinned down paint just to see the same results. Maybe I'm not ready for this type of brush and how it's designed. After cleanings I noticed the filament tips curl in this brush as well after repeated attempts of trial using Benjamin Moore Ben eggshell. I gave the chisel wedge two stars because it turns out to be an ok spot priming brush if you feather out the edges. I appreciate to opportunity!

Chisel Wedge

★★☆☆☆
I gave the chisel wedge a shot on both painting trim and cutting in wall paint. I found the brush very difficult to use when cutting in walls. The odd shape of the brush made me feel like I was painting again for the first time and trying to cut in to the ceiling or the trim in a corner was near impossible. After painting a closet with it I had to give up and use a normal brush. On trim the brush did a little better and held a lot more paint than I would have thought which was nice. The entire time I was using it I found myself wishing it was just normal shaped and 2.5inches instead of 2. I liked the material the bristles themselves were made of and if it came in a 2.5inch angled sash I wouldn't hesitate to try it again.

Zibra Palm pro

★★★☆☆
I rarely find a need for a short handle brush but was eager to give this one a try.. I loved the feel of the bristles and found the lines that it cuts exceptional.. That being said, I found, as did another reviewer, that after a couple of uses and cleanings, the filaments in the bristles began to curl.. I'd buy this brush but probably use it a couple of times then use it as a priming brush..

It is great for tight spots but, I am not a fan of the handle. It was uncomfortable for me to use. I would use this brush in my paint box for tight spots. Every painter needs a specialty brush.

Triangle Trim Brush

★★★★☆
Being the first time using this triangular Zibra brush, I wasn't disappointed at all. It held a decent amount of paint due to it having 3 sides but took some getting used to using all those sides, a bit awkward at first but eventually got the hang of it. The lines were easy to manage. I don't think it made a difference time wise from a normal sash brush but it was fun to work with something different and it made al the corner work easier. I will say that I was not satisfied with the paint draw from the cut pot since I had to twirl it to prevent paint from dripping after the dip/tap/tap. Not sure when I'll use it again but I'll keep it someplace close.

I can't Express how much I need this brush to be bigger. I wouldn't use any other brush to cut in. I cut in all day long. Please make a larger triangle trim brush.

  1. Gotta have a larger version of this most magnificent triangle trim brush. It has helped me become more efficient and swift at cutting in. I’m a painter by trade. I love my job, and this brush makes it so much easier. Please make me a bigger one!
